It used to work, but now it dosnt.

In CS my voice comms comes out all garbled and "echoey" so Im told. Ive done the windows set-up thing and the Sierra voice set-up thing (which is the same  ) and they both sound OK, but on-line, it sounds like I have my head in a bucket.

Im running XP btw, Throd mentioned something about an addition to the command line, but I cant remember what it was. :(

Help me, I need to shout at Laz.

What key do you use for Voice, if it is one of the 6 keys around "insert" "delete" "home" "end" "pageup" "pagedown" then move it to somewhere else.

For some unknown reason these keys make you sound like you are underwater :D

If your using speakers for voice coms, it will cause echo etc.

Also if you try to use RW as well as ingame, it can turn RW to static, to use RW and not ingame, voice_enable 0 in console - fixed everyones so far that i know of.

well, in order of answer:

I use CAPSLOCK for voice, so that not it.

I dont have a Creative sound card, so thats not it.

My head isnt in a bucket, although I do look like one.

I have that line in my command line already. Incidently, if your running from ASE, does this pick up the stuff written in your command line?

RW works without any trouble, thanks ECA. (Although we have started usinf Teamspeak now. Highly recommended)

I cant out-shout a woman, no way, no how.

And I still have a wobbly, bucket voice in CS.
:(

No - right-click on CS within ASE and choose custom config...add your command line in there.

Hey Wil,

I had loads of probs with my mic which seem to be sorted, at least my clanmates tell me they are :)

The wierd thing was that ion the Sierra voice set up everything sounded fine, but in the Windaows mic setup everything sounded shite, distorted, echoy etc, this is what my team were hearing.

I use a Hercules Game Theatre XP and it was the latest drivers that had buggered my voice up so when I eventually found the previous ones I managed to fix it.

My voice was still very quiet tho despite everything I could find being turned up, then whilst playing around with my drivers one day I discovered a little checkbox marked 'Mic +20dB' or something similar. I checked it and everythig has been fine since.

This probably won't help, but you can't say I haven't tried.

I have a problem recently, my mic had about equal static to voice. Finally tracked it down to an un-muted line in, and I'm back to cclear as a bell. Not bad for a free mic I've taken apart and mounted on a bendy wire.

Hello guys, here is my fancy "voice on-off" script, I have not fully tested it.

.
.

OR you could type all these in your autoexec.cfg file in your "valve" and cstrike folders (and the rest of your mods each one):

voice_enable 0
voice_modenable 0
sv_voiceenable 0
voice_scale 0
voice_forcemicrecord 0

I can't remember if voice_enable or voice_modenable is the current command.

Good luck guys.

That doesn't work for me.

It says something about a dodgy command line

Try putting it in " "

If that doesn't work, paste it here. Not that I even play the game any more.;)

I got confused with you saying 'right' and 'left'. I should have asked you to run through that with me before the match :-(

I never know which is bombsite A or B.

I just tend to watch which way the other dots go.

Or if I am watching one and the bomb is planted I can usually deduce its at the other 1. I'm quite bright like that ;)

Bombsite A tends to be the one with a big red A in it, whereas bombsite B is usually the one with a big red B in it.

Youve played too much Dust/2 ;)

I think the new aztec thats comin out with 1.6, has the big "A/B" marked out like Dust... finally!
