Budget for UK trip.

So taking a trip to ye old england, factoids below;

- Staying at friend, no cost.
- Just a friend visit trip, no sightseeing etc.
- Will probably need to buy a bag full of jelly babies. Like luggage sized
- Probably a bar-/pub-night included on trip.

Minimum is ofcourse "take no money at all", but what's reasonable, no idea on UK prices.

Well if you go out to eat at a pub/restruant and drink a fair wack you're looking at £50 for a comfortable night, add another £10 or so per day for random shit like lunch or jelly babies + any expenses if you do go somewhere

I always end up spending £60-70 on a night out in town. £30ish in a decent pub night.

A pint of beer is generally £3.00ish in most places non London, a bit cheaper up north (excluding big cities).

I'm from hampshire. A pint in a pub is normally between like £3.00 and £3.80 round here. I'd take like £30 if I was planning on having a night at the pub. Not sure about the price of jellybabies tbh.

Go to poundland, b&m, quality save or home bargains for your Jelly Babies, they tend to be a fair bit cheaper unless the supermarkets have the huge packets on offer.

Agreeing on the £30-£50 for a night out to a pub, can be done in less if people are buying you drinks also need to consider how much and what you want to drink too. it does oddly round up and it's nice having change if you're hungry afterwards.

Jelly Beans? Uhm, go to any major supermarket and go hunt, can get ghetto-cheap ones, or ones that aren't.

Usually cost around £1.50 and well worth a try if you love the taste of Jelly Babies.

Find out if your friend is a member of Costco (a big wholesaler) - you could clear them out of Jelly Babies in one visit...if you have a large enough container ship

I lived in North Waltham between Basingstoke and Winchester for many years. Then Hatch Warren near Dummer and still own and lease out a property in Basingstoke. Nice area, South Downs has some of the best countryside in UK. Really do miss those long walks and mountain bike rides with the dog.

Visa and mastercard, yes. Never heard of the others myself but that's due to the fact I view credit cards as evil! Hence I've had one for 4 years and never used it.
