anyone watch this earlier? imo, its one of the better plans ive seen in the last years. less fucking over the people between 20 - 60 and more about giving bonuses to everyone outside of that.
mr brown mentioned he could afford to cut taxes but instead he would put double the money into education. seems a good idea in the long run, that is if the new generation of kids actually arnt no hopers like we have now.
the way it seems is he is hoping all these people will go through education, get fantastic jobs and then pay the high taxes like everyone else.
rather than lower the taxes now, leave education as it is and not so many get fantastic jobs. imo that way would only lead to us being a poorer country.
bonuses for the 20 - 60 lot?
the tax threshold is higher so you can earn more. in the end, it doesnt matter much anyway. its more money you can spend on taxable stuff isnt it
.
free a-levels to 25 anyone? sounds good to me. if i wasnt in uni now i would be taking him up on the offer.
and for the boozers and smokers. 1p goes onto a pack of fags, 4 p onto a bottle of wine. although dont quote me on the wine increase, i cant recall exactly if it was wine or a pint.
only downside of the plan is axing 40,000 civil jobs to raise a few billion. not a good move imo, but fair play to him having the bollocks to do it.
