GDW, whereabouts in NI are you?

I recently got regraded to 1Mb (through choice, before this was announced), so it'd be nice if they're doing all of greater Belfast in the next few weeks...

:)

They've had that limit for a while. I don't think it's enforced yet though. They just don't want the anger that they caused when they limited the time on BTOpenworld Anytime to a certain amount of hours a month a while back.

PLUS.NET in april will be giving everyone the max speed their line can take up to a max of 8mb!!

Their pricing structure will relate to the download limit and not the line speed.

I think for a 30GB download limit it will cost £21.99 on a max 8mb line...

I cant wait for april!!!

Re:21/1/2005 Faster Broadband Platinum 2 for just £5 extra a month "Complaint"

I think its appalling that you should supply this faster connection to your current aol broadband platinum members for an increase of sixty pound a year. The existing Broadband Platinum should be upgraded with no additional monthly charge, ive paid what i believe to be a considerable amount for your previous best connection to get the upmost performance.

As a long going customer im absolutely discussed

I didnt get a reply

That's because the BT hardware provision side of the business is completely seperate from the ISP side of the business, which is, in essence, run as a seperate business altogether.

It has to be for regulation purposes - the info isn't allowed to be shared. Hence why most BT staff (bar those that work on the ISP part of it) don't know what ISP you use for your broadband.

BT Yahoo can go screw themselves. 5 years with their ADSL (initially at £40pm - now £31 pm) and they introduce a 30 gig cap on a 2 meg service!

Pipex is the way to go for unlimited - they have just released details of their new price plans:

http://www.pipex.net/investors/pressreleases/pr/press_release_page.php?id=198

Either the uncapped 2 meg £34pm or the uncapped 1 meg £23pm for me.

Just going to rape the shit out of my BT ADSL before they bring in the cap.

It's probably because you've spent the last 4 years raping the shit out of BT ADSL that they have had to introduce the caps ;)

Yes, quite right. How dare people use their highspeed internet connection for more than browsing the web/downloading the odd game demo.
