Is this the right place?

Anyway I have a BT router that may or may not be "hot" and I want to use it at home to connect two pcs to the tinternet. I heard that they had fixed i.p. s or something and that they need to be re--configured. Anyone know anything about these? Or should I just buy a cheap 2/4 pc router/hub doobrie?

Its cable modems that have to be configured to a mac address. BT use dynamic IP addressing for their home broadband service, which basically means that every time you connect to the service, you get a new IP address.

Well, you could have a block of fixed IPs (Zen does this for free) - but I doubt it :]
