whew net came up for the first time in weeks, anyone else had any problems? BT are denying that anythings wrong one day, claiming theres a fault in the line the next then sending us an engineer out who claims "all is well... there is no problem here!"

bah gifv reliable internet again :(

(first major problem we've had with BT in years i might mention :p )

no idea what BT are like but cant be worse than Teletwats, took them nearly 10 weeks to reconnect me with 8 different engineers coming out and saying "Oh we need to send a team out" then 3 weeks of not returning calls.

I share your pain mate i really do

BT Broadband...

Was a very early adopter of this (pre-registered before it was available back in the day where it was engineer install only)

Only ever had one problem - the modem they supplied died after 1 day.
3 days later they sent out the engineer to replace it and everything has been absolutely perfect since. They even managed the upgrade to 8mb with no real disruption...

Can't really say a bad thing about their service on this tbh

TBH I'd go for bethere.co.uk - they offer 24Meg download unlimited for a score a month. Take it.

I'm with BT also, took about 2 hours to tell the technical support team in india that the router they sent us had packed up.

They're sending us one of those new hubs, should be great.

Btw BT Option 3 and 4 customers, read the small print of your terms. If you were upgraded to 8mb broadband before BT Total Broadband was introduced your entitled to one of the new hubs for free.

My house has BT Internet, and its shit!

Connection randomly cuts off (and router reconnects 5 secs later) every now and then. Well it almost happens every night, couple of times. Sometimes it does it several times in an hour. Makes downloading & games almost impossible.

Very annoying. Obviously either the router is fucked or the line is dodgy. Either way BT support are far from helpful. :twak:

Thats what mine does, they're sending new hub free as a replacement. Hopefully that will fix the problem.

Had very bad experiences with BT a efw years back and have been on Tiscali ever since.

Only issue I have had again comes down to the foreign call centre's they use (the only reason I had to phone them was when my bf and I were moving in together and I wanted to know was there any way we could merge the two accounts so we didn't have to get new email addresses - gave up in the end as they couldn't understand what I meant!)

Other than that their service has been spot on for me :)

If its the adsl max (8mb service) problem then it is location not provider, a mate in the office is having problems on f2s and was told its the new service on certian hardware in certian switches :( I have had bt 3 years not and i have never had a peroblem that i can remember where it has not been a phone line problem

as i said ive never really had any problems before now (apart from their modem dying which was fixed when we got a router anyway so it wasnt a major problem )

they told us were were getting upgraded to 8mb but because we are so far away from the thingy the max we get out of it is 2.2mb (which may be whats causing the problem hah) its been working all day today though so maybe its fixed o_O

I'm sick of the high UK prices for low bandwith internet. Yet its typical, we get overcharged for everything :(

I'm with Telewest just now, but I've decided to move to Sky Broadband. Dirt cheap prices with free phone calls too, for only £10/month? Yes please :)

Heres the link to the prices! Sky Broadband Seems too good to be true :)
