BT exchange check phone number

I'm after the phone number you can call from your BT phone to find out if your exchange is enabled and you are close enough.

Basically it does a line test and an automated voice tells you if it is enabled and stuff.

I'm sure I heard there was such a test.

AFAIK that number simply tells you if you are close enough to an enabled exchange, it's not a "whoosh test" or anything.

after I hit option3 it says press 1 if you are authorised to use this service or hang up...... what do they mean by authorised... it's my fucking line lol.... just wondering can i get into any shit and/or wave any rights to anything by pressing 1?

just press it, if you get a shock down the line, your not allowed.
