OK it's not a problem as such, but ...

I have a PC on a broadband connection, and I have a new PC on the way ... with the intention of dumping the older one for the newer one.

How do I install the BlueYonder cable connection to the new PC?

I'm aware i'll need to take the NIC from the old one and put it in the new one, but what else do I need to configure?

cheers in advance.

perhaps nothing, though you'll do well to have a wee look at the properties of TCP/IP and write down things like gateways, DNS servers et al if you can see them. click your NIC's properties...should be down there matey. in an aside, you could also write them an email asking about it.

If you are on XP then you dont even need to install the disk they gave you. Just run the network wizzard and it will work straight off.

If you are on an older windows version then as previously mentioned in this thread, make a note of the TCP settings and set it up yourself or install the evil Telewest software.

Ooh cheers, yeah it will be XP ... I was hoping it would install the card by itself. Wasn't too sure about any of the "evil corporate software!!!11" :)

Also will the drivers that XP installs for the NIC be sufficient? Or will I have to get new drivers from somewhere beforehand?

That depends on the NIC and indeed the motherboard, which may already have a network card on board. XP has a lot of drivers in ithe installation and if the nic is realtek based then there wont be any problem
