I live in England and was wondering if anyone can recommend a broadband provider please? I currently have Wannado but would like to change for reasons that may sound petty so will not go into them,,,can anyone help please?

We use Zen Internet in our office, and I've been very happy with them. No problems since it was installed almost a year ago, and they also don't charge for static IP addresses.

Whats wrong with ntl ;p. My cable is nearly always up, only thing thats truly unreliable is customer service some people know what they are talking about others don't. Had one CSR once giving me such crap I said can I speak to your supervisor, she said sorry hes not available so I said, whats the name of your superviser she goes Im not allowed to give names of colleagues over the phone. So I said whats your name then so I can write a letter of complaint she goes I can't give you my name either. Truly such bullshit.

The engineers that visit you know what they are on about thats what counts.

Vel this is what the engineer said and this is what you should have done. Get them to install two cables one for your tv and one for your modem from the main junction box outside, they dug up my garden etc and popped a new cable in. I was getting fed up with ld's but I got a good engineer planner round who then said you need two cables etc. My connection never lds now unless NTL are fiddling with something.

If your cable modem and TV split off of one line its bollocks ;p. They can sort it they have sorted it and they know how to do it.

Being a comms engineer I know a little about these things, when I talk to NTL and they give me their normal scripted tripe about ressetting the box, standing with 1 arm pointed at Venus and how growing cress in the set top box is bad for it, I tell em where to go.

I also have access to all the local distribution boxes, and equiped with a test meter and butt (test phone!)I can see if the problems my end or theirs. 90% its theirs.

Got Zen too, or I will have when it gets activated at home.
6 working days since placing the order, and no hassles at all. Top marks!

Nildram or Plusnet imo, nildram will have a lower ping for gaming servers generally but plusnet is a little cheaper and same kinda reliablilty and speed performance. Jolt uses nildrams backbone etc i have nildram and only have 4 hops to all of jolt and a ping of around 15ms.

Maybe zen or eclipse too although i know less about them. ;)

Those 4 are widely regarded to be the best adsl isp's.
