tests on gorre.

We all miss the day of duels, fun, no zerging, and new stuff & respec testing.

Now volunteers are the only ones that get to play on gorre? whats with that, i never saw a form to sign up as a volunteer

What are your thoughts on this?

There was a news post a while back explaining the volunteers roles and how to become one.

Based on the amount of bugs in this version, i'll let you know whether or not we should all be allowed to test the patches

it would be kinda cool if Gorre had one of those /charcopy things (or whatever the command is) where you can transfer to Gorre....

...but then seriously you'd have to argue what the point would be seeing as all the patches we receive have already been tested by the americans...


Still, it would be nice to be able to test a respec before actually putting it into effect on your main character.

I dont think Gorre should be open to all, way too many emain zergers and idiots around who would detract from the point of having testing and bug solving, which is what Gorre is for. GOA and the volunteers are trying to make sure come patch day theres as few problems as possible before it goes live, and not to provide a test bed for your chars, if you gimped them, thats your problem, roll again.

As for being a volunteer, the way to apply has always been on the main Camelot-Europe web site, http://camelot-europe.goa.com/news/benevole_present.php3?id_article=608 not too hard to find under "help".

Pfft, we need to test the English translations, so its silly to think that the Americans would have any idea about that..

I just don't get it, French servers come up first, even though the game is French, the main language of the players are english ... wierd....

Actually the french and german player bases are larger than the british ones. Hence they have more servers.

Oh and the game is american just so you know

The game was developed by Mythic (American) and is only hosted and broken (more) by GOA (French).

The game is American. GoA (french) have got the rights to host the game from Mythic (American).

Why do you think the Americans are ahead of us in patches, and that Mythic have to send the patches to GoA for translation??

Not only french or germans > british

french or germans > british+swedish+belgians+finish+dutchs+spanish+portuguese....

Thats why english community (although not native i count me in) only have 2 servers, n must w8 (grrrrrrrr) for french/german translations to get patched (while we might be on same version than US)

Don't know if this is true or not but apparently the english version is translated from the american version into french then german before going back into english.

It would explain why our version has so many more spelling mistakes and wierd grammer than the yanks have, i've played on the american servers so i can say for certain that there are far more mistakes on ours.

I've always wondered why GOA can't just give us the straight patch, i get that they put multiple patchs together but why translate them.

Because GOA patch for the german, french and british (as well as the dutch, the spanish, the swiss, and the fat guy that cleans the toilets) its deemed unfair to keep the english servers uptodate with the american ones...

...i can see GOA's point of view on this, but i still think its unfair

they can still give us the american patch at same time as the french and german one . Heck if they didnt translate our english patch from a french patch it would save them some time? going from english-french-english is kinda weird imo
