Bonus to AF...

How much damage does higher AF reduce? E.g. like 50 additional AF from template? Has there been made any research about this?

I believe the Mercenary TL did some nice research on it, and apparently +AF proved to be next to useless... but I think they changed it. I'll try provide the link later unless someone else has already done it.

Isn't bonus from template capped at 25AF?
(on a related note: Pala can make his self AF buff and AF chant even higher with 25% buff bonus)

No the SC calc is wrong its 50 af from temp

And the easiest way to test dmg from +AF is to use a bolter as they dont have differance on dmg if composed spec over 50:)

But then we're not talking about 1000AF... we're talking about +50AF. You add 1000AF onto regular armour+spec af for ~1800AF and yes u would be ~invulnerable to melee attacks ;)

mailed to GOA with quetions concerning AF bonusses and AF values on certain armour pieces...

AF is bugged, mythic is aware of the problem and is working on it, so don't get ur hopes up on usage of these stats... as is with most usefull stuff in daoc, it is BUGGED.

But +50 AF to your overall AF stats should work just as normal AF would. If so then where would the factor of 800 (before 1000 starts to make 10AF = 1% melee reduction) come from? I think it's probably a much more complicated formula which has diminusing returns instead of it being that simple.

Gah, my PD1 obviously isnt doing its job enough ;) Tried PD4 once and it was plain ridiculous. Can't afford it in a group RA setup but when I tried it, had a buffed scout melee me for 25-40damage with side styles... It truly is a wubbly RA if you can fit it in.
