I'm guessing bonus, if so what does it actually do?

It does mean bonus, yes. If I have my facts correct, and I'm pretty sure I do 
, the higher the bonus on a weapon is, the more chance you have to hit on each swing and the higher the bonus on a piece of armour is the lower the chance of a mob/player hitting you is on each swing.
The highest bonus you can get is on crafted arcanium stuff and that's a bonus of 35%.
