ok.. how is this done, when your change to the bombing scope to have the line with the bar at the bottom right?

To hit a target do you just need to release the bombs once the bar is on the target you want to hit?

I'd like to know the answer to this one aswell. I think speed obviously has a large factor in where your bombs land, and the hud doesn't seem to change to accomodate speed. Most people go with a steep nose dive and pull up at the last moment which works well although not ideal imo.

Your best bet is to get on a server with yer mate and get them to tell you whether your bombs overshot their target, and test this at different speeds. With practice, it's a devastating tactic on the enemy tbh.

Bets way..play the 16 player single player Operation Clean Sweep....great for bombing practice.

I find that a 20% dive is good for areas cover on a group of infantry or over a base.

And a 60% dive is best for hitting a small group of tanks or armoured vehicles.

Don't let you until you've been registered a while and (I think) respond in a few threads. Stops spammer cocks (who we don't like around these parts)

When I first played I *thought* that dropping bombs as the bottom of the line was over the square/triangle of the target worked, but in hindsight I just so happened to be at the correct height and speed for that to be applicable.

As Gale has said divebombing is the easiest/most accurate, but if SAMs are actually being nasty to you then you might have to do low level runs. My only advise about those is practice, practice, practice. And hit F11 after dropping so you can see where the hit and adjust next time if needs be.

One thing I'm not sure anyone is trying is 'tossing'. i.e. come in low, pull slightly up (maybe 20degrees) at the lastish moment and release bombs. It would have to be 50metres or so from the target I think. Point is you can then immediately turn away, not having flown directly over the target, avoiding the SAM. It will take a LOT more practice though.

When I first started, that's exactly what I kept trying to do; 'proper' bombing runs, but as you say, it takes a lot of practice, the aiming recticle isn't designed for it (as far as I can see) and I think the map designers have actively worked against this method on a lot of the maps because you'll end up with a tree or a crane in the face if you try. Works against carriers though; you can come along the axis of the carrier and slightly below the flightdeck and make a nice mess. Trying it at rightangles to the flightdeck is a hundred times harder and not really necessary though.

Ello fellas ... errr Bombing is far to advanced I would first like to know how to get the plane off the ground without one of them mountains suddenly jumping out !
I have even bought a Logitech Wingman force feed back stick ... planes are a little better but Helicopters aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh ...
Its so much safer on the ground.
