Bolt Battle at Sursbrooke

Hi guys

Just wanted to say well done to those of you who successfully defended Sursbrooke vs Hibs earlier today. Cool battle. Once we broke in, an insane Guard Pop from behind plus you guys defending well was too much for us in the end.

Was a great Bolt Battle and special /salutes to Phreakz (who 1 bolted me twice - once for 1253 - ouch!) and Wyleia for some well placed mezzes / DDs (and the guys who kept you alive from us in return).

Sadly I seemed to miss or get block with nearly every bolt apart from a couple of near 1 bolt kills in return on Phreakz (but your 30% cold resists saved you my friend!). Mythic were telling porkies about 1.52 fixing bolts - maybe they just don't like Hib

You never know when you hear that 'bang' if you will survive the hit...but it was a good prolonged battle - much more satisfying than those 20 sec Emain zergs most of us are getting fed up of.

Had a good chuckle at Beno after trying to get inside solo, only to be mezzed (Wyleia) and nuked Phreakz (again), and then to have the Albs dance around my corpse whilst dropping and pointing at Hib Medallions of Passage and laughing. Cruel things you are...lol!

What you didn't know until too late was that the rest of Hibs were 2 mins behind me... so maybe your celebration was a bit premature. Got a rez early into the battle from a cool Druid (Loreen) and even managed to help kill a couple of you whilst rez sick so the RPs weren't wasted.

Ah well you all released before I could /clap /bow /salute you - I like to think some days we win and some we lose, so gloating ain't worth it as I eat grass as much as the next player.

Now Alb and Mid frontiers have less aggro, I think you will be seeing more of us Hibs venturing out - We need a holiday from Emain - hope to have some more good scraps like that!

Hehe... well no one laughed at you that i recalled... just noticed you werent releasing so knew someone was prolly coming from you, altho phreakz trying to tell you to go back to hibernia with the medallions.. i was laughing irl at him poitning to medallions and pointing at you .

But we knew we werent getting inside beno... 20min and like only 5% of the health on the doors gone.... so were waiting for incoming.. just next time dont bring so many.. not much for 9 of us to do aganist that many hibs incoming from behind.

I really do prefer Middie or Our frontier to emain atm.. Just because of all the zerging. Its just hard to come up there to fight you guys because its very hard to get enough people together to travel up there to fight. And its a long walk to run up there with 1fg to be slaughtered by 2-3fg of hibbies asap.

But indeed until we meet again ... not in our frontier, you best keep your greedy hibbie hands off our keeps.... /salute

Phreakz bows to Trelawney !

Well it really was a great batlle ! i really enjoyed all the fights there This type of battles is what i like most, and i would really like to see more ppl attend on keep defend battles, instead of porting to emain and getting zerged by mids/hibs/albs... its really pathetic in my opinion..

Trelawney i was amazed too by that damage output of the bolt, you were not the only one that got that damage from my bolt i think i killed 3 of you like that.. if i am not wrong. Either way i was really amazed because i have never before seen my damage cap output on a yellowcon character and not on a greycon mob


I have to say that you (and Raza too /salutes Raza) did a great job out there, and you would have killed me if it wasnt for Jesi wasting her mana back there healing me (oh ! i would like to know the (-xxx) on your bolt spell you casted on me. just for info ) btw, while you were mezzed, wyleia and me tried heat-debuffing you, then nuke. It worked (+250)(instead of(-150) on previous bolt) on damage output, but is was not effective because i have hit you with my cap, which is 1053.. so the + was not effective

hey !! we are not mean ! someone on the group said "Trelawney isnt releasing" so i made up that trick to tell you to release and not to reveal what we are doing ) didnt mean to offend you tho we all laughed a lot IRL (and not on your dead body ) personally i would never do that) so after that you started calling for help.... i should have understood that help was coming from behind oh ! and tell dunarimar not to try to slam casters at his first attack we got self bts he will always miss heheh

Anyway, i really like this battle type, with strategy and patience, instead of running like crazy up and down in emain getting hit by a random zerg which happens to pass by, so you'll be seeing most of me at Hadrians from now on. I hope others follow this example and come join our groups at those, unexplored for most of albs, frontiers.

Hey Wyleia and Phreakz

So glad you guys saw the thread and enjoyed the fights too!

To answer Phreakz question, I think my Void Bolt of Uncreation hit you for about 700 (-330) ish, so that was a fair whack of Cold Resist you had there - Nice!

/em will remember to switch to Light Nukes next time

I noticed you HP bar drop to just a fraction on two occasions I was fortunate enough not to get bolt blocked (something it seems attackers encounter have more than defenders in keep or MG bolt-fights). Also you (wisely) ducked before I could QC my 2nd bolt - nice dodgin' pardner!

My Void cap is 1011 (I'm RR5 L5 and most of my RAs are geared toward damage output and crits) -To date, I think my record was 1011+879 crit in one bolt (yellow con kobold caster), but was a rare thing.

On the whole in my experience, Runies and Wizzies have a slight edge with raw Bolt Damage We Elvies have lower HPs, but we encounter more Cold Resist than any other type in-game. On the flip side we have some other advantages like Stun and Light DDs which balance us out, or as with the US - many are respeccing to Light or Mana.

My in game 'hero' is Melgar (Mid Norse Runie) and one helluva player. His Rune bolts (Energy) hit like a truck (bit like being Tango'd), and his cold resists mean my Bolts tend to itch him more than do, y'know..damage or anything

I'll pass your regards onto Reza - and have him say "Hi" here next time I speak to him.

Wyleia - that Mezz and Heat debuff was a smart move - Nice to see teamwork isn't dead!

Yeah it was 1.5 grps Hibs that attacked you guys (L 3x-50s) - I think Loreen had done a good job on those Beno doors with her Hibby Black n Decker beforehand - gawd bless her!

Next time bring your Bosch Power Sander with detachable Ram

btw - I guess you guys are probably seeing these threads appearing about our Shields/AF being bugged? Worth taking a peek to compare notes...
