Blunt/Blademaster

Well lets say i wanted to make a Blade/Bluntmaster

and spec should be 42shield/44blunt-blade/39CD/24parry
so in RvR it would be Slam-CD-CD-CD...

Well Blades and Blunt the dmg is based on your str on both of them right?

stat points should be str/con/quick?

from classes of camelot: Dexterity affects the usage of evade, parry and shields...

well i would only be using shield in RvR for slam, so i guess it would be better to put 10points in quick instead of dex?

Last, what race firby or celt? well a firby would have much more str and lower quick and dex than a celt. but ehh well im confused

any ideas would be greatly apreciated :p

What ive heard you shouldnt roll an Bm they are the "paladin" for hibb. "Oh poor thing lets invite him", or the "i happy im not an paladin". FFS you might even think gimped classes are good when compareing to those.

Now if you want to do some tanking roll an moose - there hard to kill, or even worse one of those pesky casters with stun and pbaoe ;)

-interresting idea btw :)

BM's are well over due for improvements (they will come one day I can guerentee it)

If you wanna roll one m8 go for it..
I like them to.

Just one thing.... I would bother speccing shield at all.

True skip shields, Slam takes ~1/3 end and the shield doesnt block, get Dodger instead and evade like a bitch... :)

bms suck so much compared to zerkers that its just hillarious, zerks just do twice the damage, period.

personally i think these guys are talking crap =)

no BM has specced hybrid on either excal or pryd. a hybrid slam bluntmaster is unquestionably the best way to go, and will combine archer/bolt immunity and great pve skills with 9sec stun and high damage in rvr.

yes the damage of a firby bluntmaster is comparable to that of a spearo (though of course spearo will outdamage on chain). bluntmasters completely rip plate wearers apart.

so yes i think this would be a VERY fun and effective RvR tank. as a pvp question though, of course you would have to choose a zerk, the unchallenged damage dealing king of the dual wielders.

to sum up: go for it, at 50 you will have a blast in rvr. being a shield BM on the way up will make you a much more attractive tank for groups also.

If you are going to go shield/blunt BM then you are far better off rolling a hero. Even if blademasters could use LW they would never do as much damage, due to being on different tables. Also the switch from shield to dual blunts would involve physically replacing the shield with a blunt via your back pack, it can't be put on the quickbar. The only reason to have a bluntmaster is due to less resistance on plate etc.

That said because you know you are a 'gimp' class you learn to play it better. Never ever stand still in a fight, keep moving, strafing, running thru then /face. Always fight with a shield tank where possible - once they stun you can stand behind the enemy Snow Shower + Gale and they are going down fast.

As for Blademasters ever being 'fixed' I honestly can't see it happening. Many BMs in the US are demanding an increase in base damage output which would make us PvE monsters, especially if you spec high in parry, so I doubt that would happen. I'd personally like a use anytime style that has a stun on it, higher baseline parry, and for CD to be either at 100% when you spec to 50 or CD styles firing off the left hand. It bugs me that some of the styles have a scissor action yet only the right blade is guaranteed to swing.

Considering how stacked everyone seems to be with slash resist, maybe blunt is actually the way to go. The advantage to blade for my money is the Fire --> Spectrum chain in mid-levels. Blunt only has one anytime style apart from taunt (FoM) and nothing that chains off it.

Blademasters get evade 2 or 3? on catacombs it says 2 and on classes of camelot it says 3...

well if i want full usage of evade it prolly would be best to pick a celt, instead of a firby... though i wont do as much dmg, i would evade and parry more. and since albs/mids havnt got end song... i guess i would parry ok..

well i cant decide :(

Firby or celt

str/dex/con or /str/quick/con

10 stre 10 stre
10 con ore 10 con
5 dex 10 quick
5 quick

Now ill be respeccing to Blunt for sure, that will serve me better in RVR and in pve. Blunt has better bon to hit then both pierce and blade's.

Ive thought of some templates too with shield.

44 CD
43 Blunt
42 Shiled
16 Parry

But ive heard and read that parry will at abit l8 patches get working so it might be useful not to nerf that line :)

But it mostly depends what you wanna do with your bm. I only want shiled spec for Rve so i dont really need the 42 slam style. you can do something like this.

47 CD
47 Blunt
31 Parry
21 Shield

Now i wouldent max anytthing to a 50 spec, i think those 3-5 last spec lvl's are abit to much wait of points.

Btw, Fireborg ore Celt. Do one you will like, you will cap stre with both. And you will cap many/all other stats aswell.

CD highens your max dmg, and Blades/blunt highens your lowest dmg output.

We have evade 3.

The most common specs are either

50 weapon
50 cd
28 parry

50 weapon
44 cd
37 parry

44weapon
44 cd
43 parry

btu whatever u do make sure your weapon is higher or = to cd cause it was recently proven that having a higher cd than weapon lowers your damage.

I personally am not sure about what I'll change to after respec but it'll either be

50 blunt
44cd
37 parry
or
44pierce/bladde
44cd
43 parry
