Blueyonder changes price structure.

Okay I am going to post this in two forums, mainly cause this one (the broadband forum) is soo obscure at the bottom that no one reads it. I got an e-mail from telewest informing me that they are cutting the cost of their Blueyonder broadband service to £25 for thoose who also subscribe to their phone/cable (analouge or digital) serivces. This moves them in line with NTL's price structures (for in my opinion a better service).

So now for £25 + £9.99 (for both a phone line and digital cable box with basic channles) you can have broadband access. Thats £34.99 for a full media service, go to BT and you would pay £40 for standard ADSL and £10 for a phone line and you would be stuck with your standard TV channels.

Oh dear BT looks like competition just hotted up. I know that cable is not avaiable everywhere, but where it is who would pay extra for ADSL?

With ADSL don't forget you have to pay an extra £10 a month for a 2nd line to put the ADSL on (otherwise you wouldn't ever be able to use yer existing line for phone calls.)

Adsl uses the existing line and still leaves you with a working phone line.

Blueyonder for me, have provided an EXCELLENT service. I've not had a second of downtime in 3 months, installation was quick and trouble free, and there are no problems whatsoever. I've heard nothing but a lot of criticism from peeps with ADSL on the otherhand though. Dodgy connections, massive installation problems, poor customer service and downtime that seems to come once a day leaves me with little faith in both BTOpenWorld and Nildy. Of course, if you do consider getting ADSL (for a ridculously overcharged price) - go for nildy - it makes sense. :)

Telewest installation in only £50, not sure what NTL one is.

I know that does not help thoose in non-cable area's except maybe make u jealous/want to move to a new town.

Just need to set up some sort of connection sharing and firewall now. A little P2 box sat in the corner should do nicely...
