I am miffed,
after several years at work happily browsing Freddies/Barrys my work people have decided to get an outside agency to monitor the net traffic. It is Blue Coat and the policy says wagwagoops at Freddies as it is a 'games' site :(.
Is there any way round this ? or does my month away have to be that much more boring for ever :) Answers on a postcard.

The blocking database will be run, updated and maintained by an extrernal company. So unless you can convince them to desclassify it, your only hope is that there is a way to put exceptions into the Blue Coat app. However, if you don't have access to that either then you could possibly be screwed.

When I was at college, they blocked BarrysWorld forums. I went and spoke to the IT department (who had access to exceptions etc.) and convinced them the site was a valuable platform for discussion on a range of topical issues.

They actually agreed.
