Howdy all,

Has anybody else had an invite to a funcom published mmo/rpg type thing called bloodline champions.
It looks slightly like DoTA/LoL in terms of view point, but is completely skill based, ie if you cast a firebolt, it goes where you click, rather than auto aiming on a player.
I had an invite today and it looks quite good so far!

Anybody else trying it?

Got the invite but haven't tried it out yet. Some other old daocers think it's rather decent though.

Have played this a bit today and its very cool. It has a huge amount of potential for a skill based, team game.
The class synergies are very nice and I can see a team that played together lots wiping the floor.

Its like daoc except more top down, spells aimed with mouse (think leading a moving target), no gear - so aside from skill, you're essentially on a level playing field. Could be really good!

Bloodline Champions - Arena based PVP game with a unique, fresh and action-packed gameplay.

beta I think is open, if not send me your email address and I can drop you a key.

Someone want to explain how you can have skills at playing a game?

All you really need to know is where the buttons are and when to press them.

And how much skill does that really take?

Not trying to flame or troll, i'm actually interested to know.

You dont dodge spells or melee by having a set "evade" %. You dodge by moving away or around with your keyboard.
You don't automatically hit every spell you cast, it fires towards your cursor, so there is an element of aim.
Chuck in team work on top and you have a pretty awesome game.

So basically you need to have a good aim and run around like a headless chicken, and that's it? :)

I suppose players actually have to stop to cast spells and the likes? Otherwise it might get really boring really fast if ppl just run around randomly flinging fireballs and hoping something is in the way. :)

Fury tried something like that when it was in closed beta, and it didn't work.

You need to aim heal spells on your teammates aswell. Then there's also crowd control and quite a few other spells that you need to aim

Anyone can run around like a headless chicken in any game, but ofc then your team loses every time

Positioning, movement and teamwork is important

Watched a video on youtube and it looked dreadful. Graphically it's like those free games you get popping up when you're on anime/manga sites lol.

Game play wise it just seemed a bit basic and boring. There are 5 or so abilities and 2-3 are fixed to the class? Does anyone have a video which would lure people in to play this?

Sounds like UT. :)

I got one of these beta invites as well. I guess it's because we showed an interest in "The Secret World".

I got my beta key from Funcom and played the game for a while. I must say that it's a very easy game to play. I kinda had fun with it for a while.

Can't be that, i haven't signed up for anything from that game. I've only played AoC and that's it.
