Blocking

I need to get out more, but since i dont, I have a question on blocking

I understand that a small shield can block 1 attacker per round, medium 2 etc. Now what determines the round length, is it your sheild speed, or is it the first attackers weapon speed or your own weapon speed.

Secondly, if it is my own shield or weapon, would quickness make these rounds faster so that i have the potential to block more? (also would haste and celerity have a similar effect)

Any input would be most welcome.

from my limited Shield experience;

Number of attackers, is counted as number of people who are in melee, and in range to attack you.

Quickness has nothing to do with shield. at all.

In RvR, the number of attackers doesnt count on your size of shiled.

all this, is only as far as i know :)

The size of shield doesn't affect on how many attackers you can block per round afaik, it affects on how many attackers you can block per round without a penalty (small shield=1, medium=2 and large=3). So basicly with large shield you should be able to block as good againts 3 enemies as againts 1 enemy.

Yup

Number of attacks has nada to say. The rule of thumb is that shield size affects how many attackers that can attack you simultaneously without getting a penalty to your blockrate.

Small - 1
Medium - 2
Large - 3

So..

A large shield is just as good vs 3 enemies as a medium shield is vs 2.
