Blademaster vs err anyfighter

Weve all heard hero this and armsman that but i want to know how all other fighter classes fare against Blademasters, And before i get a million Bm's are crap replies prove it with actions not words, if u are a lv42 melee class contact me and we will see if Bm's are as crap as u think

I've beaten a yellow blademaster (well... i think it was a BM, can any other celt classes dual-wield?) in straight melee with my minstrel. I used shouts sure, but i didn't DD, mezz, rest, DD stun...
I know that's not quite what you asked for, but er, best i can do since i'm neither 42 nor a pure melee class.

Er dropped a BM with 3-4 hits from my infiltrator that was with all three critical strikes landing

You'll have a minor disadvantage, seeing that I'm a thurst polearmsman...

Depends on a lot of things Tali.

Luck plays a large part, but in general you'll have to face that you will die a lot.

Archers will kill you before you get in melee range BUT they only have to miss once.

Nukers will kill you pretty easy too from range UNLESS you resist the stun/mez

Melee classes will generally own you one on one BUT with higher evade you have a chance.

Anything that can stun/mez/shout has an instant advantage but sometimes it comes down to luck.

Hopefully the next US patch will look at melee and we get some extra bits to make us a lot more viable.

to wedge.... even tho we have fought many times , only once have we dueled and that wasnt proper so im up for a real 1, win or lose its about having a go

to cjkace... i respect your opinion but.. i cant beleive u think melee classes of equal lv can beat us, maybe its our specs. On the point of archers and mages then i agree, and even com mezzers im not sure about

ur a dmg dealer not a taker, like the hero/armsman, hence the low absorb armour, so u need someone to take the blows.....

In the end its not the BM class that sux, its the entire tank category (Mid partially exceptet) that sux big time in rvr. Lets face it, tanks in rvr:

run for 10 mins, look for invaders.....find em, charge -mezzed- dead

or:

charge -nuked to pieces- dead

Every fekking time

Like I said we have a chance against most BUT quite often its the triple wield that wins the fight and thats every 30 minutes.

Today I ended up dueling Fast twice.

First time he won cos triple wouldn't fire for some reason, second time I won.

The trouble is that most other meleers get chain/plate and we have a big minus on that - couple that with low hps and someone that can hit you for 350 plus and you begin to see why I say we are lucky to win 1 on 1.

Mind you we are better now than we were - evade3 is better than I first thought.

Spudgie - the reason I die so much is because I refuse to stand at the back - I'm always in the front line - and 90% of my R2L6 I earned that way

uhm we were having fun ... hence the no armor. Maybe it was the stick fight, me using the 2.8 dps stick (only have it on me for when i put on a robe to Impersonate a caster) Or was it when i was using the fast , red hitting sword (crap damage) and no shield ... ?

Another thing i was alone ... what did you have out there besides talivar ? Yellow coning druid , yellow coning warden anyhow there were about 6 or 7 of you and i DID c u all buff up. Those fights were fun, showed great sportsmanship and differed greatly in outcome depending on the equipment used. Anyhow add to that that i am a paladin - yes you would laugh if i told you my hitpoints when unbuffed - yes I am on the same damage table as a cleric - and yes I still kick any blademasters ass even though the blademaster is the slightly better RvR class of the 2 ( adding up the numbers in ALL the us server showed that the paladin was worst RvR class by a wide margin ).
Plz lvl to 50 mr blademaster, buff up if you like, and i'll come along for the ride buffed to my (rediculously low) cap and I will hand you back your ass. As for the plate, LOL, sure lets nerf the paladin and give him studded, its the only thing we have going for us ffs.

You would have won granted if my realm buddies hadn't kicked your tin corpse back to alb land, cos I was down to about 10% while you had 25% BUT no little glowing sword. If triple had been armed then you would have been dead long before the mage nuked you.

Please don't brag about kicking BMs ass, when you quite honestly haven't. Ass kicking means winning by a fair margin, not scraping through by the skin of your teeth.

First of all, since 50 i've been resisting a hell of alot of mezzes, which is really nice. Secondly, tanks arent supposed to solo in rvr, they're an RVR class, not a pvp class, they need a group of people to be succesful.

Thirdly, we WILL be alot better equipped for soloing when realm abilities are patched, we get insta heals, remove all negative spell effects (mezz, stun, rez sickness.. everything), and even aoe root/stuns. so we'll be pretty dam good at soloing then.

I think they should have at least Evade III, maybe push it to evade IV like the NS. Well soon the parry chance is going to be doubled so that should help you m8

Eyesight problem ? Might have been the lag with 40 hibbies at the gate, you got 2 hits in before i realised someone was hitting me and before i changed my quickbar to a combat bar. When i did i took you down to 25% in what ? 3 styled hits. I bet you were buffed too, my clerics were dead ->no buffs. You evaded one blow i blocked 2 or 3. You were at 10% and if i was at 25% how come it took 4 nukes + you hitting me to kill me if i was at 25% ...
Plz post abouts events how they happened not about how you dreamed things went later on that night.

I ran thru u 4 times, hit /face, ganked and was moving again.

Obviously you are such an uber l33t guy it's hard to admit, that you didn't KICK my ass.

As I stated you would have still won, and would in a duel BUT

a) I had surprise on my side
b) you weren't prepared

A duel therefore would still give u an advantage.

I have a large disadvantage on plate

Big shout out to talivar and cjkace by the way, being the only 2 other high level blades I know of.

Ok blades like all tank classes, aren't a great solo class. If ya wanna solo in RvR be a ranger. However, set a blademaster onto a mage class and you slice orange and poorly played red cons to pieces in minutes.

As usual its difficult getting to em but i find that when grouped the rest of the group leave me cutting kobolds and avalonians to pieces whilst the heros and our mage classes deal with the guardians... ever noticed how enemy tank classes like to take out a blade... wouldn't you be scared of 2 swords and triple wield... me thinks so

its like all classes, played right they are lethal.. wrong and the suck. You gotta go all out offensive, im maxed in CD 2/3 in blades and 1/3 in parry and it does me nice.

One thing though.. scale really wouldn't got a miss, if not at least evade 5.

I have found though that using 2 swords with DD on em (i.e. my two gem encrusted claws) really aids in taking people out, an extra 70 dmg from each sword just like that to a yellow combined with triple wield can lead to 2 to 3 hit kills.. trust me, ive managed it.

absolutely not true.... blademasters have the possibility to spec as Bluntmasters (same class the name is just for show) and that prob is suddenly an advantage instead...

Nope don't think anyone forgot.

The problem is that when you first roll your character and choose Blademaster, you assume because of the name that blades are their best weapon. Blunts do more damage, but at the cost of speed, and as BMs are supposed to be light and fast, it sort of negates the argument. When (if) re-spec ever comes, I know a couple of BMs are re-speccing to blunts but I'm not one of them.

PS We can also spec pierce (Piercemaster) and shield (Shieldmaster) so really the class should be re-named Weaponmaster.

LvL 45 Shadowblade wanted to duell me tonight, he sneaked up on me and got the first hit in, i blocked the 2nd , slammed him and finnished him in 3 more hits. Doubt a blademaster will do better as the SB was dead before the stunn effect ran out.

I think that any tank would get raped by an good assasin who got in his CD (Creeping Death, with stunn).. but then again... if the tank manage to get his Slam off he might have a chance..
