Phantasy Star Online can be played offline 4-player. Not really an RPG but pretty good all the same.

RPG's only really anygood when they are MMORPG, I find playing with NPC's gets a bit dull after a while. Mind u that while is a few months, thats why RPG's are fun u can lose all concept of time in the good ones, for example Morrowind, I started to play it at 9am didn't get off it till 6pm, no break's or lunch completely didn't realise the time. Never again though, I always check the time every now and then.
