Going to break records again come Tuesday?

Tesco have a huge bloody mobile gaming centre on a truck near me for the midnight launch.

I must admit I really enjoyed BLOPS more so than MW2 and I didn't bother with MW3 so probably going to pick it up at some point this week.

Ive got my old xbox360 out and have been warming up on that to get ready for Black ops2, I wont touch it on PC as they are doing the same as mw3 with no proper dedicated servers etc and no Call of Duty Elite.

Midnight launches have been going on for years, the first midnight launch for me was back when the Dreamcast first launched in the UK.

CoD has nothing to do with it but i guess people who want to bash CoD will think of anything these days.

Had to mock my 16 year old nephew earlier for being a console gamer, I dont think he took it too well when I called him an aim assist kiddie.

Well yeah that's just plain sad but turning up at 1155 and walking out at 1202 with game in hand is ok If your a night owl.

What's not to get it? People want said game or whatever and people will go out and get it when they want you don't have to understand why, get on with life instead of worrying what other people are doing tbfh.

I, for some reason, went to a midnight release of MW2 when i lived in Wimbledon. There was a massive queue when i got there about 11:40. Went to the coffee shop next door, came back to the queu at 11:50 no extra people. Asked the last guy in the queue how long he'd been there for "Oh for 3 hours! I didn't want to miss it!"

So for 3 hours noone extra had joined the queue.....i wondered how long guy #1 had been there.

Got mine at 12:15 home by 12:25, finished the game at 5:45.....decided never to do that again! :p

I queued for 12 hours at Asda for an Xbox Premium, learned my lesson to preorder what I want after that :) managed to get 2 though and sold the other one for like £700 on eBay.

Never again though :)

It doesn't really affect (sp?) my life in any way whatsoever - and don't worry, I don't worry about it in the slightest. But I can still think it's silly ;) You obviously feel more strongly about it than I do in the other direction.. Fair enough. Though I'd get on with life and stop worrying about what I'm worried about tbfh :giggle:

If people didn't have opinions about things and just "got on with life" FH would be a very quiet place :coffee:

I care more about the fact I still don't know when it's appropriate to use "effect" or "affect".

So I hear this one's got slightly futuristic guns now ?

You were right.

Affect is the verb. The effect is caused by the affect.

Phew, otherwise they'd need to do something different

Please note: I am kidding. It is a fun game. It's just the same game over and over. I think a version with lasers and shit would be pretty (damn) sweet.

Ty ! Is this always the case ? If it was that simple why has no one explained this to me before?

When is it appropriate to use the verb "effect" rather than "affect" ?

Edit: This answers me: http://robin.hubpages.com/hub/Grammar_Mishaps__Affect_vs_Effect

I didn't play MW3, I think that's the key these days have a break once a year.

Then again know people at work who only buy 1 game a year and play it every day and that's CoD, you could wave 5 of the best games in their face every year and they wouldn't care.

Meh, they're good games and easy to pick up and play - not only that, they're pretty - that's why everyone plays them :) Which makes it a good target for the usual anti-console banter from people such as myself when we run out of other things to moan about  I'm tempted to give this a go on the PC at some point as its been a long time since I placed the series.

I agree we have an 8 week old baby and CoD is perfect for just playing 10-20mins here and there, it's by no means perfect but I'm having fun which I guess is what counts.

Usually I get around 200 hours out of a CoD game which in my opinion makes the entry fee worth it.

just unlocked class customisation at lvl10, and theres soo much to change and personalise; guns feel like mw3 but hitmarker detection and gameplay is like black ops1 I think.

Best thing is Score streaks and not killstreaks, not as bad for corner campers or ppl behind claymores in this game, as people have to play the objective to do well/be succesfull.

Yeah only level 10 myself but the score streaks are a nice addition and very welcome.

Just finished the campaign, weird as fuck ending.

Is there a zombie mode single player? Used to like that for a quick bash when the wife was getting ready and stuff. Forget which one it was on. If so I might have a look in the Xmas sale on steam.
