Having some problems with my comp

Tried all the usual stuff, when i log 2 accounts on i cant stick one, then when i am camped the background account keeps LDing, no lag or nothing just goes

I got;
Pentium 4 3.06 GHZ processor
2gig Ram
Nvidia Gforce 6200 512mb

So cant see any reason why i cant stick

Anyone got any ideas? oh Firewall is set to allow too so not that

when you say you've tried all the usual stuff, have you tried:

1. switching processing priority to background services
2. manually setting the priority in task manager to "below average" on both or just the one you are actively playing with.
3. setting the clients to sleep when in background.

?

Then logically the problem is - or might - be as a result of the upgrade. Is it possible to go back to your old system, then install one new item at a time and try after each component is upgraded ?

I recently upgraded my computer and ever since I have had problems with dual logging :/ Tried all the usual stuff, when i log 2 accounts on i cant stick one, then when i am camped the background account keeps LDing, no lag or nothing just goes.

I used to have:
P4 3ghz
1gig ram
Geforce 4200ti

Upgraded to;
Pentium 4 3.06 GHZ processor
2gig Ram
Nvidia Gforce 6200 512mb

So cant see any reason why i cant stick

Anyone got any ideas? I'm using wireless network which used to work just fine and Firewall is set to allow too so not that
The more information you give the better. This discussion could keep on going 10 pages before you say something important such as "Oh, I moved my computer to basement from 4th floor and my router is in the 5th floor, think that matters"?

''First of all, search this forum or Google for your problem or a similar one. Failing to do so will send out a message that you are lazy, and why do others need to spend their time if you won’t do so yourself. The helpers on this forum cannot be expected to answer the same question over and over again. This takes too much time and also will annoy those people seeing those questions again.''

Thats the bit of the clicky that I would find most relevent.

Basically your foreground account is hogging all the CPU time and thus your background account LDs. Option 2 that you mentioned you didnt do is the easiest way to fix it quickly imo, though the background options that got added to daoc recently seem to do the job just as well.

I would also add that its not inconcievable that your gfx drivers are at fault, and you could try running both accounts and desktop at the same resolution to help it out and make sure youve got the latest from nvidia.com

Was refering mainly to this:

1. Write a complete report of the problem. What occurred? What error messages did you see? Did you hear anything? What were you doing just before it occurred? Did you do anything significant in the previous time? (Hardware update, bios update, program installations etc etc). The more pointers you give on the problem, the more likely there will be an accurate and quick response. Questions like "My computer just stopped responding on anything I do... What’s wrong?" will often be ignored since it can be virtually anything causing the problem.
1) Computer works fine.
2) Computer gets upgraded.
3) Computer doesn't work all that well.
-> kinda important to know the specs of the computer before upgrade :S

Nvidia Geforce 6200 512mb is very, very poor card for games and is most likely the problem here. DX8 card similar to 4200ti would be better because its DX8 and therefore doesn't even try to do DX9 tricks which eat lots of performance.

so what exactly did you upgrade? if you didn't format after a serious computer upgrade then it could be an issue with conflicting drivers.

what did you upgrade from?

Because the 6200 uses Turbo Cache, which shares memory... likely to be your problem
