Is it possible to do this using CDs instead of a floppy?
I binned my floppy a long time ago.

Yes.

I booted up my computer using my Windows 98 CD, and loaded with CD support. Then I put the CD in with the BIOS files in and carried on as usual. I even used a CD-RW disk so I could delete it and use it for music again

That was the plan, make a bootable system disc on a CD-R, instead of a floppy.

A lot of mobos do a in-windows bios flash these days, certainly asus and aopen do ?

Got ABit, D/L'd the flash utility and Bios flash, may see if we have a floppy kicking around in work tomorrow.
