Hi all, its my turn to approach the agony aunt that is FHOT...

basically a former housemate of mine (who i never really got on with but was kinda forced into living with by mutual frieds, but thats a whole different story) has turned around and passed on a bill for the house we used to share for £177, now the bill is for a period AFTER i moved out, and handed in my keys to the landlord, and the bill is not in my name and never has been... now i have just told her to get bent as it has nothing to do with me but she has already told the company in question that i will be settling the bill and it has nothing to do with her, so now ive contacted the company as well and they said they will let me know what will happen with this bill, im not too keen to have my credit rating etc raped (though im not even sure how that affects me given i dont live in the UK any longer) because shes a stingy bitch whos trying to weasle out of paying bills

if you have proof of living somewhere else like a utility bill or tennants agreement then the others can go fuck themselves and no harm shall come of you

What Sparx said, if you weren't living there and not on the tenancy agreement then they don't have a leg to stand on.

yeah as long as you can prove that you were no longer living there during the aforementioned dates on the bill you should come out of it without a worry!

Well if the bill is in your name, she cannot tell the utility company that you will be settling it. They can only deal with the person whose name they have registered, which isn't you. So just ignore it, and watch her get into bad credit.

edit:// Why did you call the company who issued the bill? They did not know you existed before you did that.

Which estate agent were you with Orm? Just ignore it tbh, the estate agent is going to be able to do anything about it, they're not going to bother chasing after £177 quid etc

well you have no contract with anyone, hence nothing to default on, hence ram the bill up her piss hole.

Just for those interested (and probably not for the bleeding to death sort of people)

i got this response from the company;

Thank you for your email regarding <snip my old address>, I confirm that this dispute that you are having with your ex flat mate is a third party dispute, <company name> will continue with our debt follow up procedure with the account holder.

I trust this meets with your satisfaction. For a more convenient way to contact us and receive further discounts you can visit our website, where you can also view accounts, make payments, provide meter readings and amend current payment and service packages.

so i have told her to get bent :clap:

(in a polite fashion)
