No more? :(

Read in the papers here that it might get a namechange.

As a non-british-non-living person, i find it a bit aww shucks since BB(especially namewise) has been a sort of an icon in culture i've grown up with.

Peeps thoughts?

Big Ben refers to the bell in the Clock Tower at the Palace of Westminster, not the Clock Tower.

Yeah, even the BBC got it wrong.

...well actually, they get most things wrong in their news reports these days.

Yeah the naming will just apply to the tower itself, Big Ben is the bell and will continue to be called as such.

No-one's going to use the shitty farce of a new name for the tower.

Oh right, learn new things and all. Thinking people will still call the tower big ben, knowing how stubborn you brits are to change :D

(not meant as an insult, don't throw angry goats on fire at me, basic yada yada towards the more uptight members)

Its going to be Big Ben until the damn thing falls over. No tourist is going to go upto a London cabby and ask them for Queen Elizabeth Tower (or whatever its new name is). Even the ppl who came up with the idea will still call it Big Ben.
