BF2 Patch Update

It appears the Battlefield 2 patch is causing a memory leak on a number of PCs. For the time being EA are recommending you do not install the patch.

If however you've already installed it EA recommend reinstalling Battlefield 2. This will not affect your in-game medals or ranked server statistics.

A fix for patch for v1.01 is underway.

They could at least provide a patch uninstaller - I really don't fancy uninstalling/reinstalling this game :/
