in 4 years of playing this cool game tonight was the first night someone has cheated against me

im aliasing as polasity btw as im a lame aliaser but at least i dont use an aimbot and deny using it..

everygame will be like cs now, is he cheating or isnt he

Indeed. I've spent a lot of time recently emailing around sys admins etc about this. I was also playing last night on a botted server, never at all fun. If you spot a bot on any of the BW servers don't hesitate to pop into #barrysworld and ask for a q2 server admin to sort the assailant out - but make sure you are sure its a bot first Theres a lot of damned good players out there. I'll have a goose at the demo now.

Just studied the demo : To be honest i wouldn't put money on him being a bot. have you ever seen ratbot on a modem? Either way, there was a couple of shots that looked a littel dubious, but like i said, there is a lot of talented players out there, and i know a few HPB's that can outrail me when im on form
Thing is with the new ratbot breed, people are learning how to drop the bots FOV to around 30 degrees horizontally, so it doesnt actually LOOK much like a bot as in it hardly flicks which is how people can normally tell bots as they fire out their arse. It really is hard to tell i'm afraid, I've been consulting with barrysworld, claranet and netcom about the matter, and the fact is, until someone can be bothered to adjust bwadmin, assuming its possible, it may just be something we have to put up with.
Although i have seen this Voodoo2 chap on a few servers in FFA, i beat him quite easily without worry, im a FFA player, and yes he was good, maybe should stick to duelling, but that was before the new ratbot modification was released to the public domain.
We'll see how goes, any news i get regarding it I shall let you know on here.

i play this guy quite often and most games are like 10 or 15-0

notice he goes for rail every death and about 5 hits are as i appear round a corner..ive showed this to about 15 people and your the first to doubt that it is a bot

its so obvious after watching it a few times...the shot in the mh room where im by the cg and hes at mega health

i jump from the steps and he rails me in mid air as i appear at the corner, awesome shot for even shub to pull off..

Quite true, but like i said, its circumstancial evidence unfortunatly, i've pulled off shots like that, maybe he was using spikes ? that would make things a lot easier and assuming he has a good rail aim anyway, would make the worrying shot a lot less worrying.

Hard to say though, some people just have to be complete tossers and ruin games for everyone, some just do it out of ignorance, heh, i even found my old friend Cybercop botting under someone else's name the other night. Maybe BW should provide a server with a serverside aim-help, basically a ratbot modification with a low FOV to help the newbies/poor arseholes aim

I had a look and I am total poo @ Q2 but most of his shots (IMO) looked like they were just well played. You're right tho when you were near the megahealth, some lucky ass shots he played thru there from near the supa shot gun a presume.

Sorta looked like one of those 50/50 things to me - bot or fluke shots...

well i did miss some of the hits first time round when i watch the demo but theres alot in their

1) when hes coming up steps from rg area and i get railed when i poke my head out

2)same ere but hes at rockets, as i appear i get railed the moment i hit the corner

3)main lift by lower rl but i did have my head poking out..

4)cg shot as described above

5)water kill where im railed 2 times from full armour whilst chaingunning him, then manages to hit me for a 3rd rail shot as i poke my head out behind the sewer entrance to rg (this is all while i was chainguning him...

6)game before i was toying with the same player which im going to upload the demo when i get home..the difference is astounding...

so he was cheating either way, i still think it was a bot he was using as spiked models doesnt improve aim just awareness..

Not necesarily true ez. If you think about it one could
design a spike which is the correct distance for 150ms of running. Therefore he just needs to aim at the spot on the end of the spike and he would hit you almost every time.

The one shot I thought was dubious was the one where he was at ssg and you tried the mh jump from ya and got nailed. Could have fluked it tho..

To conclude, I have seen many more convincing displays of bot users than that, and tbh, you won, so I don't see why your complaining
