Ok here it is..
After much thought and sadness.. I decided to respec to a S&S Pally .. After being two handed since 1 month after beta I have always loved the fact im different, and I love my ubber 2 handed sword

But alas.. everywhere I go someone.. (with a big mouth) always has to yell out that im gimped.
I hear it over and over and I started to wonder if Im really missing out on anything.
So putting up my sidi sword for sell I start getting loads of tells in game..

"DONT GO S&S"

So here is where you guys come into play.. Ahem..
You know how with all the reality bs on TV now where you can vote what time people go to pee or who gets kicked off lol Im going to leave the future of my pally in your hands!
( so be nice)
So here are the choices ( if someone can make a poll that would be great)

1. Go S&S 2 handed sucks
2. Stay 2 handed, they get love next patch
3. Delete your pally cause you are asking this
4. I don't care I just want your ubber end

But hypothetically if you like the idea of S&S exactly as much as 2H, then I'd pick S&S.

Not so long ago I went to Avalon City with 2 pallies. One was S&S, one was 2H. They both got the same buffs (mine). They both took on a halberdier.

I once in a while was healing the sword & shield pally,
I was constantly healing the 2handed pally.

The 2handed one had end 4 (yellow icon),
The S&S one had end 5 (red icon),
but neither of them ran out of endurance before end of fight.

The 2handed pally killed the halberdier fast,
The s&s pally killed the halberdier last.

Are you looking for damage, cool looking big styles and getting and holding aggro easily, go 2handed pally.

Are you okwith faster swings but low damage(and I mean LOW), guarding a groupmember and being able to take lots of aggro, go s&s pally.

My first char was an Armsman. He was 2handed. At level 49 I got the chance to full respec due to one of the patches (1.54? can't remember) and went s&s. I really loved the shield but when you are used to 2handed, the damage is shockingly low. He's back to 2handed now.

I am now slowly levelling a paladin, and he's s&s. chainkill yellow and orange and end up with almost full health.

Bottom line is there is something to say for both specs as a paladin, but you can't ignore the fact the s&s version is a bit better suited for the tasks a paladin will normally perform in PvE and RvR. You can even argue that the shield is even more important in PvE than RvR as in PvE you are the aggromagnet and need to be able to withstand lots of attacks, something you do lots better with a shield. In RvR you could reverse roles and go for a 2handed pally who provides endurance and a 50/50 armsman for the guard duty, altho you're still stuck with endurance 4 of course.

Oh and why not option 5.

Stay 2handed and start second paladin who's S&S. Then pick whoever you see is most fitting in certain circumstances! You have enough friends to xp with no doubt.

ive tried both S/S and 2h with ghostfeet, and i can definetly say that 2h was more fun and S/S more usefull but abit boring tbh.

and imo fun > usefullness as its a game

And my friends slaped me around a bit as well..
I dont know what I was thinking.. you know when us blondes stay too long in the sun bad things can happen Mkay?

Hmm, it depends on how groups are built. There are way better cleric-protectors than paladins. Those are 50 shield armsmen with MoB, if u have 1 of those in grp. 2h would be the best. However, if your role is cleric/caster protector, well 2h is gimped.

But the most common grps today uses the pala as protector. The logical choice would be S+S. However, if you really wanna feel unique, pick 2h.
