Valkyn, Kobold and Troll have same Piety (60)

Casting speed isn't a big issue for bd's so I'd say Troll for most hp or Kobold for better cast speed while still having more hp then Valkyns.

Only choose valkyn if you like the way they look as their stats are horrible.

With crappy buffs and no massive +cons/hits etc my troll BD had 310 cons last night which I think is ok for a caster :p

Troll, uber HP and STR, and who needs dex/qui for a timed insta? With high HP you stand less chance of being 1 hit killed.

If u rolling new char, make kobold!

The extra hp a Troll caster get is about ~50 hp at lvl 50. But then again, dex isn't that importent as BDs have LT. And using DD boosted with LT burn all your power within seconds. So play smart whatever race u pick ...

If i could choose, i would buy a race-respec and go for a Kobold. Not for the extra dex, but for the size. As a troll caster you will most likely be enemy realms first target, since they can't miss you :) ... As a kobold u can hide atleast few more seconds  ... Or be misstaken for a RM and killed last ... A troll caster can only be one thing - BD = kill fast cos our healers will be interupted. But now with bodyguard i think BD can do well for a group...

imo !!

...then again, im not fotm'er. I play for fun!

The definite attraction of having a TROLL as a caster.

With all the stuff in the game, and with buffbots and so on doesn't matter much. I agree with most in thinking kobolds make best casters overall. But for BDs if you are starting super new (No equipment, no /level, no nuthin) then a troll is a better choice. Only for HP, when your AF sucks, your armor is green/grey and so on, you will live longer.

In the end game, well.... of course a kobold.

Cheers,

(Tries to hide the fact that Oraf is a troll BD :wij: )

Size matters and not that much, since with toa artis prolly you will shape shift most of times. True any dmg taken and you back to your initial char appearance. And bd with bger rocks. Is what we run in our fixed group setup atm. And dex does matter a lot. Castin ~3 base nukes in those 4 secs needed for another lt. Yes, very true eats pow. But you nuke casters and healers not tanks. And if you have power problems, get tartaros gift and raging power. MCL2 can be used in fights if you smart and move away a bit to activate it. Casting speed is very important, especially with the enemies who use zone of unmana. Casting your dd or a root at 3 secs is bad, casting it at 6 is laughable.
But again, depends what you want from your char and how you like to play it. I like to play it in fixed group setup (what our guild does for over 1 week now) and for this i need to cast quick and kill fast. Works for me, works for guildies, we all happy :>
PS: we play for fun too :p hihihihihi :>
