Best Gaming Modem?

This topic has probably been done a million times b4 but I really need a better modem, the current modem I have is a Diamond 56e Memory and I must say its "pants"

Anyone who is on 56k dialup or have been in the past have any recommendations?

been a modem player for a long long time, i have not played q3a-ctf for about 10 days or more now, this is by far the longest time i have not played q3 , i just can't play anymore using a modem, you seen the pings other ppl are getting on a q3-ctf server, most if not all are now under 100 ms, so if your pinging at say 250 ms you will have to work very very hard and the gap in ping is getting bigger every day, if you on a modem.

Yea I agree 100% with that, modemers are really becoming a dying breed, ah well

If you can get hold of one, get a Pace Internal 56k. Unfortunatly, Pace went under quite a while back..

Q3 is dire on modems anyway. You really see the difference when switching to ISDN.

hi m8 ,
yeah i cant agree enuf with the other posts,my home highway is on its way as we speak!however i've used a 3com u.s. robotics EXTERNAL modem for about a year and it is certainly the best i've come across.I dont know why but external modems always seem to give better results than internal.GL

I've used both a USR external and a Pace Internal on this system. The internal was a lot better.

Only prob with internals is difficulty resetting them.
