what do you think is the best race for thane, and best spec, d0rf,norse, troll ?

If shieldthane I say Dwarf or Norseman for higher dex.
If 2 hander go Troll for strength.

I'd say Norsemen for Thanes, mainly because they are all-rounders.

However as a rough guide, Trolls will generally hit harder (100base str, 110 if you put 10 points into it) but make weaker shield users.

Dwarfs can take a little more of a beating than a norseman or troll. but have a little less str than norse and 40!! less str than trolls.

However, remember that as a thane you can spec sheild but your Dex doesn't increase with level. So if your a troll you'l be suck with a base 35 dex, which wouldn't make you the best of blockers

Oh my memory must be a bit short. Please tell me where I said that a 2hander thane is GOOD? Oh I didn't did I. Did I ever say that Thanes are good in the first place? Nope, can't recall that either. But I gave good advices regarding best race for a Thane. But as the lovely threadstarter laughs at the few on topic advices and spits at the others then I can't understand why he posted this in the first place. And why roll a Thane? It's like kicking yourself in the head. First wanting advices and then laughing at your own future char. Very odd behavior I say.

2h thanes do exist =P troll 50 axe 50 sc 28 parry
most ppl that meet me and i tell them my spec i get w00t gimped n00b troll and what ever. But when ppl fight me in duels and such... they go.. oh are you buffed? i hit hard.. 302 str with self buff

sure its a huge down side that i dont have slam.. i wanted something diffrent so i went 2h. I tried out shield spec on gorre
and didnt like what i saw. Im rr5+ now and doing great.
all i have to say is Havoc-Tyr's fury fortehwin!

I agree with Zoldot, that's the best spec for thane. And from my experience troll thanes are good. I block a bit less than a norse/dwarf with same equipment, but I also hit more often and harder.

All of the races are good. You can't go wrong
