Please do not bump threads, especially only hours after you originally posted :(

In answer to your question, you pay for what you get. I believe you can get a 64Mb Mu-Vo with a free armband for around £64.99 inc. VAT exc. delivery. It has no display, and has only a small storage capacity, but offers excellent sound quality and is extremely small. On the other hand, you have the Creative Jukebox Zen and Apple iPod, which have storage capacities of up to 60Gb, with multiple line displays, USB2 and Firewire support etc. They are indeed expensive, but in terms of pence per megabyte, they work out far cheaper than the Mu-Vo.

So it depends how you define 'cheap'. Please feel free to posta again with your price bracket and ideal storage size.

Kind Regards

I got an Iriver iMP400 ( http://www.iriver.com/product/ )
Its a CD player/mp3, they are about € 220 .
They have upgradble firmware (and actualy release new firmware every few months )
and talk about vorbis/ogg support in upcoming releases

I recomend Iriver products verry highly (betervalue then that overpriced apple hardware)

I really don't see the point in soild state memory MP3 players any more. Solid state MP3 players are just so much hastle as you will only get about 1 album on 128Meg and you have to keep plugging it into your PC all the time. Not great for holidays/long trips away. I had one for a while and the novelty soon wore off.
You could burn them CD and get yourself a superb top-notch Personal CD player for about £100, but I guess you want something smaller. I would wait a while, save you cash up and get one with a harddrive. The prices are falling all the time. I know you said you did not want one, but you can pick up an older model Ipod for about £199 with a small harddrive size. Look on Ebay too.
