Beno retake, it may seem a small thing...

I feel a little silly in a way posting this, but what the hey. Would rather feel a bit silly and let peeps know something was appreciated.

Lost count of the number of keep takes I've been on and helped with over time wherever I've played, and never really felt the need to thank people publically for going to take one single keep on our own frontier before.

Maybe its an indication of something that is wrong. Not for me to say, haven't been in Alb/Pryd long enough.

Anyway, thanks to the peeps who with pretty much zero notice turned up a short while ago to retake Beno.

As said, its one single keep and may switch hands repeatedly but the point is that for no personal gain*, peeps went out to help get it back. Thanks to Rigante who generally show for these things with a good turnout and to Aethelstan for starting the BG and harassing the wossname Alliance.

And nice thing was it didn't take an hour to get peeps for it.

And again, feel silly thanking peeps just for a keep retake on a single keep but felt it needed to be said and I hope it will continue. Thats a hint I guess

Ive been tempted to post for the last few days now - Albion and keeps just dont seam to mix, many players believe that the keeps are only there to help defend the relics, which is kinda sad as keeps offer so many other advantages if you look at the big picture. Ive been very disapointed at the number of people willing to actualy enter the Alb frontier and take back a keep, times of 1hr+ to form a group of 8 people to take one keep are not uncommon.

Tonight was a major change, logging in I noticed that Renaris was unclaimed, previous owners must have ran out of bounty points, within a few minutes we had a group up there and claimed. Subsequently a friend needed help to get an artifact hunt going with the assurance we would use the artifact group to try to retake beno later, but this wasnt needed as albs pulled through and grabbed controll back shortly after... so a big thank you Albion - please keep it up

Following the conversation earlier about rams and you that comment had me in stitches.

However the point does need to be raised that there are plenty of albs who want our frontier keeps to remain in alb hands. I /hate/ logging on and seeing our keeps owned by mids/hibs, but I agree there is a lot of lethargy when it comes to re-taking.

As you know though, I'm always up to help, and can usually muster some others, keep up the good work, Tears, some of us want to help and agree!

What advantages are there to holding keeps if your realm has no relics?

- Very few XP in the frontiers (apart from powerlevelers at cyraeths, which really I dont care about unless I want to do it ) - beno is usless nowadays as its not needed for crafters...

- Hadrians isnt a common RvR zone hence people arnt running there so need for a patrol-free path (similar to hib needing ailinne & bolg for the ligen-ailinne-bolg-emain route)

- All of the epic quests are around pretty non-guard patrol areas (to my knowledge anyway, I have done epics when keeps have been in enemy hands and with enemies in the frontiers without problem)

Maybe I'm just stupid or boring or both but I dont any massive benefit to having alb keeps in alb control when there are no relics - sure if you want to try and get a group together to retake but dont expect many to understand why... Sure its a "realm war" and its sad to see all of alb keeps in enemy hands but frankly most dont care.

Come frontiers I'm hoping keep stuff is actually _worth_ participating in, its looking that way so far - I dont find it fun or challenging taking an undefended keep, but likewise I dont find it fun or challenging being farmed by 80-150 mids in an alb keep (not sure if this still goes on since we lost relics, havnt bothered with alb keeps but it sure was the case...)

Agree with Jenkzy. Seems little point in holding keeps when you don't have any relics. Which comes back to the question why don't we have any relics?

I'm pretty sure the zone crashes (particularly the mid relic zones...) have not been addressed with the 1.68 patch. This means that we are currently unable to retake ANY Mid relics (not sure about Hib ones). So currently the ultimate RvR goal of owning relics is 'broken' in-game for Albs. There has been no mention of zone crashes on the european website which makes me wonder whether GoA actually intend to do anything about it..

Did anyone log the crashes on RightNow? If so did anyone receive any feedback?

Having the relics stolen, and every attempt to retrieve them thwarted by Midgards unholy pact with the GOA is one thing.... but seeing the barbarians hold Albion's keeps is another.

It's shameful to see those flea-driven beggars defecating on our first line of defence. What next? We open the gates to castle sauvage and let them invade camelot hills because no one goes there anymore? Assylum seekers looking to escape the winter chill? bah. The cretins will set up markets for counterfeit goods, slavery and even introduce canabalism.

Keep them out of Albion, far out beyond the milegates. Herein lies the importance of holding keeps, relics are secondry.



btw- individuals can do more to get a keep-retake going than whole groups can. It's not worth blaming others when keeps are compromised, because you can do as much as anyone else to get the ball rolling. Just a case of spamming everyone online and even at 5am it's possible to get 1-2fgs ready oO

Very nicely put - and to those who answered cries for help on aliance chat regarding beno..... THANK YOU !!! .... for those that dont know, some middes melee'd L10 doors down, only to be stopped in hte tower before reaching the lord - hehe then the generoisty of Albion got both doors upgraded within a matter of minutes
