Before I take hammer to pc...

I have reformated my HD. When I insert my windows xp cdrom into the drive and start up, it says

"boot failure, reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot decide"

My dads pc which currently runs windows xp, works fine. It boots up from the disk like it should, we run the same mobo and I have the same BIOS settings as him... please reply here or contact me on irc .. name is Krypt on quakenet.

Irc would be good as I can sort out my problem without the delay of post replys

hmm, you might need cd drivers... you got a CD driver boot disk?

the solution is simple,

take the windows xp cd, and break it in 8 pieces

get a w2k cd install et voila
