Be careful with Apothecary!

I ran into a slight problem with Apothecary this evening.

I was clearing out the vault and making some potions to try and skill up. Later on you need farmed items to make potions more stable, since normal water fails. So I was switching back and forth in several items and just brewing what I could.
At some point one of the "stable" item stacks went dry and I added another (I believe this might trigger the problem) and kept brewing again. When initiating a brew one of the icons all of the sudden changed....I thought. The icon changed to a pair of boots, which sadly was my currently equipped boots. When the brew was made, it was successful, but the boots gone and the item in the slot previously had to be there wasen't spent. After that it added my belt, but I removed it as I just thought it was the icon error.

To my dread I noticed my boots was destroyed. I have no clue how it ended up in there, as you cannot add equipment into the "non main ingredient" slots. So keep an eye out if the crafting items go haywire!
I bug reported it ofcourse.

tl;dr version - Currently equipped items may pop into the crafting slots, resulting in the items being destroyed.

Cool, far more fun than the plain old killing yourself when it goes wrong :)

Meah, except it was a stable potion I was brewing, so no failure. It certainly means you gotta stay on your toes, instead of some half sleeping crafting.

Yikes! I noticed this once with my axe but although thinking it a graphics bug cancelled the potion anyway as wasn't sure what I'd put there. Close call.

Still, I'd love to know what potion you came up with boiling your boots ;)

Yeah, happened to me too. My boots got turned into a health potion (and not into a smelly feet potion as you would expect)

Fortunately I only lost my early quest trophy to this, wondered where it had gone for a good few days until I saw the whole icon thing myself.

When reporting it to a CSR the response I get was "Sorry, we don't assist with item restore due to bugs, you can create an alt and redo the Quest then send the trophy to your main!" or something to that effect.

Needless to say I think this is utter donkey balls, I did ask in what situation would they help with item restoration then if not when it's caused by the game, no reply...

Oh, another one that you might want to watch out for:
When taking stuff from the Guild bank, if using right click and your inventory is full, the items just vanish...you get no error, and they don't appear in your inventory, they're just gone. So be careful on that one as well.

Update after patch 1.02,
It seems apothecary has stopped eating our stuff, but it is still bugged, when going from one stack ingredients to another, especially when using weeds to prolong or double the amount of potions made, you need to close the window and set up the bottle/main/water/weeds again or you might waste the weeds that prolongs effect or make more potions.
Also keep a close eye on all the ingredients, or you might push the button to make more potions when actually having run out of one of the ingredients, and no it does not always say it will be unstable.
( all this has been bugreported )
