I posted this thread under "BBA punch-bags" on the www.rtcw.co.uk Member's Forum last week:

Since then there have been 2 BBA vs Clan "Thrashings" (SyK and RzR) which went well imo. Gives the clans a chance to practice their tic tacs and the BBA have a damn good game.
So since this looks like it could be a regular thing in the future, I thought I'd let you BW Forum peeps know about the idea.
So if there are any Clans who want to have a game, pop along to www.rtcw.co.uk, sign on, and go to the 'Member's Forum'. Start a thread with a title like:
"BBA vs [Clan] Thrashing 2100GMT 27/2/02"
...and you should find yourselves with a game with BBA members in a short space of time! The Rcon admins can 'book' (eg) BWRTCW Server#4 for the time/date required and a special password can be used to prevent 'strays' wandering into the cross-fire.

That's the background, now here's the idea:
Clans like to practice. Obvious. However, practising against other clans is not a very good idea if you want to try out new tic tacs, etc. But there is a very nice existing 'pool' of unaffliated players who can generally guarantee a reasonable game with good teamwork - the amorphous grouping know as the BBA.
So the suggestion is that if clans need a practice, they can annouce a time/place (I guess on the 'rtcw.co.uk' servers) and then non-clan BBA's can 'sign up' to be the opponents. When the practice session comes around, only the signed-up BBA's join and the clan have a 'temporary' and non-clan-affliated opponent with which to play.
I'm thinking of it as a pro-active punch-bag that fights back.
