Battlefield1942 - Desert Combat 0.4j

Hiyas all,

All running BF1942 servers (bookables/rentals/subs/previews) have been updated to Desert Combat 0.4j. All other BarryServers will be updated at 6am tomorrow morning (2003-09-16).

There are a choice of two downloads available for Desert Combat 0.4j -

Upgrade from Desert Combat 0.39K to 0.4j :

Desert Combat 0.4j Full Install :

Note : BattleField1942 1.45 patch must be installed to run Desert Combat 0.4j

Hi,

Just a quick question .. apologies in advance

Seeing as the DC mod itself is over 500 mb, is it classed an "add-on" it is a seperate game and has its own "startup icon" etc but requires BF1942 to be installed or does it actually replace the original BF1942 files?

again apologies ...

I have to ask as someone I work with mentioned it replaces it! .. I wasnt too sure this was the case but thought Id ask


If its a seperate game then I assume all the other mods [EoD etc] are the same.

ps. I havent tried downloading DC yet as it kept getting half way through the process of downloading and hanging at 69mb. Not sure if its my connection/zone-alarm or the server .. but I'd have to rule out the server as I tried from another site and got the same thing.

I have masses of Gigabytes left on the harddrive so I know I havent run out of space.

To my knowledge it doesn't replace the original BF1942 files, if it did then you would not be able to play normal BF1942 or any of the other mods.

I guess you could call DC an expansion.
