I actually payed for this game. I just tried to load it and it complained about me having CD Emulation software. I use it for legal purposes (backing up my legitimately bought audio cd's for use in my car CD Changer). Now tbh, I refuse to reorganise my pc to play a fucking computer game. I could (and actually did) download the pirate copy but decided to buy it instead of install the copy. Any way I can get this game (THAT I FUCKING PAID FOR) to work without having to uninstall other software?

GRAGH. Fucking retarded anti piracy policies.

Edit: the weird thing is that I was under the impression GTR had the same protection but that has no problems running on my system.

Turns out uninstalling CloneCD and CloneDVD sorted it. It's not a big deal since I never use them anymore, but it still fucks me off that I had to :\

Oh, and christ on a bike the in game browser thing is effing lame. If you change the wrong setting it just gives up and dies.

Right. Shittest game ever.

If ever there was a game that simply wasn't ready for release?

First time I tried to play online, the server browser crashed because I was editing the filters/sort by fields. Second time it did the same. Third time it was a shit server with a map that once all the points were taken we couldn't spawn anywhere so game over (but the USMC had an uncapturable point?). Then I try to disconnect and it takes about 1 minute just sitting there. Then find a nice spot on a ranked server with a good ping and connect. As soon as it's loaded I click join game - it loads up the select kit screen then says "Menu Loading" (I didn't press esc). It then crashes.

Rage, fury and anger. This is fucking absurd, I'd ask for my money back but it'd be a whole lot of effort and I'd quite like to play the game with the stability of the demo.

Grr.

The Demo is actually a later build than the retail version hence more stable and easier to navigate around the control panel. The problems I had were surrounding the ATI Drivers that resolved it plays fine for me with little in the way of problems except the (At Times) Non responsive navigation system to join servers and the fact the little icon for launching the game does not work.

I agree that this game is not ready for retail release purely because of the whole connection issue. However once you are on a stable server the gameplay is awesome and the whole squad thing works well if you are on with a few mates

Yeah I know, about the versions thing. Another annoying thing I've discovered - I just tried to play a game online now and the browser reported ALL of the servers as having 0 ping, no matter how much I refreshed. Were that true, I'd be jolly happy but I very much doubt it is. :|

I just type in the name of a server, eg Jolt, then get about 5 servers come up, much more manageable (though still crap I know ) .

It hasn't complained about my Alcohol 52% being on the machine yet, I need to emulate the disk and try it.

I've got Alcohol with an image drive and it works fine. CloneCD/DVD is what it didn't like.

I've just been playing this some more and I'm already thinking of giving up. It causes far more anger than fun. Performance is TERRIBLE. It runs smooth then I get in to a plane, and it starts freezing every few seconds (almost like packet loss, but my connection is sound). Then I crash in to a tree. Oh the fun.

I really can't be arsed to send it back so I guess I'll just wait til there's some patches that claim to fix all the stupid effing bugs.

I've seen both GTR and SC3 floating about - however getting them running looks like a pain.

Read your posts and feel sorry that youre disappointed with this game. I think its the best ever, though I do agree it does have its flaws. The 'there is a problem with your connection' problem is shit atm and needs to be fixed! Also the search engine and filters and crap too! Yea so those are all crap, but dont bother me that much.

I have my filters set to ranked server, no password, etc etc and when you get into a stable server with a small ping its brilliant. The only thing I can suggest to you is adjust your graphics settings.

Im running on a 1gig ram, Radeon 9800 2.0ghz comp and i thought it would be able to handle the 'extreme' test of all high graphics, i was wrong. I have to set my settings to medium to play this game without lag, though I can still run MSN, Aol and WMP in the background, though if I alt tab sometimes when we I get back in its rather jumpy.

Whats your comp spec out of interest?

P4 2.8, 512mbs of ram, Radeon 9800pro. I'm loving the game at the moment, when it's not dicking about that is. I still get this lame problem of it jittering like mad for the first few minutes of a new map - I'll die about 5 times while it runs at 3fps but then it calms down and for the entire rest of that map will run perfectly. If these annoying bugs get sorted I'll be very happy, however as it is it's still a great game.

I figured it would be a memory issue - I need another 512mbs tbh.

Indeed, I have the same RAM and the same problem...after playing on one map and it loading another it frequently stutters which is exceedingly irritating :\

Well it does say required ram is 512.. which normaly means you need more than that to play it smooths so makes sense... darn games these day requiring alot better computers :/ even I need to upgrade.
