Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons

Well it looks like a 2nd expansion pack is on its way, according to Game Planet the New Zealand division of EA had Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons slated for September on their release schedule, this was obviously information EA didn't want released as it was promptly removed.

there are already many rumours flying around as to what its content will be, some of these are... Planes that drop Parachuters, the 1st rocket propelled German planes, and Bigger bombs.

As of yet EA have neither confirmed or denied this so everyone is left to speculate whether this is just a false rumour.

I must admit, I do like the idea of having transport planes that can deploy team mates via parachute to any area on the map.

Lots of oppertunity for wiping out your entire team in when fell swoop.

And it looks like EA have comfirmed it to their bum chums, GaySpy.

I'll put my money on there being a few free mods that are much better and larger than this expansion by the time it comes out.

<obligatory plane rant>

Can only despair that their key selling points will be more planes and bombs. I can see the spiel "KILL THAT POOR BASTARD IN A TANK EVEN FASTER BY BUYING THIS EXPANSION!"

The AC-130 should be available in the next Desert Combat alpha version which is also a flying spawn point, so they've beaten EA/Dice to it! Serves them right really for selling expansions that many other games companies would release as patches.

on another forum I visit someone mentioned BF1942 going the same way as the sims, a new expansion released every couple of months.

Maybe, although lets hope they realised they need to either include more or make it cheaper.

I didn't realise the AC-30 in Desert Combat will be a spawn point, but I do know the Blackhawk will be able to carry several passengers - ideal for surprise assaults on spawn points if you're organised, but when it comes to playing on publics, will you be willing to put your life in the hands of a 'pilot' who probably hasn't even flown a helicopter in DC before?!?

And no mention yet of any new Axis-side vehicles - as if the A-10 and Apache don't make it unfair as it is!!

Battlefield: On Holiday.

Take your battles away for a break in the sun. Meet new enemies in the swimming pool. Design your own plane logos with sunshine faces and flowers. Watch your troops clap with delight as multi-coloured bombs ri[ your opponents into showers of cocktail umbrellas. Go on a date with an axis sniper. Will he like you if you give him a present or would you be better flirting with his bayonet ?

(BF sux btw :))
