Enjoyed it. Full of the usual Gung Ho Semper Fi rubbish you always get with anything to do with the USMC, and of course, the inevitable Cute Kids That Need RescuingTM malarky, but, the aliens are credible and the battle scenes (which are what its all about really) are excellent. No ID4 type silliness at the end either.

Agreed, saw it on Friday night, liked it immensely. At first I thought, shit too much camera shake but it settled down.

Had quiet work day and went to see it at the Vue in Southport, loved it
and was surprised not to get tired of the shakycam action, they balanced it just right and I was disappointed it ended too soon for my liking which is amazing cos I usually get bored in the last half hour.

Well its got to be better than Skyline, who after a recent play through of Crysis, they cleared knicked all the designs from. Even down to the blue lights.

Skyline was pretty bad and really stupid, though not bad for 10m budget.

I tried downloading a pirate screener of this and playing it on my ps3, got owned by some new anti-piracy thing called Cinavia :p

Same thing happened to me. That has never happened before on my ps3. After some google research the software has been around since 2008, and the latest thing I could find on the web was from august 2010???? Pissed me right off, tempted to go back to XBMC;)

I was quite impressed by it, it's hard coded into the audio apparently, worked fine on a shitbox though, just had to drown out the fan noise. Not worth the time though, a real bad film.

As a straight up comic action film it isn't that bad. glad I decided to try before I bay though. Suffice to say I won't be buying, bit of a shame as I was looking forward to it.

cinavia does not work if you stream the content, so using ps3mediaserver for example....

Don't know my house-mate did it, audio stopped working when we tried streaming.

Did no-one else think this movie was the biggest cliché ridden army recruitment video? Dialogue was beyond anything i've ever seen and most of the film made no sense.

The film made perfect sense, it was fun for what it was, but not anything I'd likely every watch again. Good way to waste away some time when you are lethargic and don't want to engage your brain.

I agree that it was just basically a marine recruitment vid though.

Its a bit naf, I found it quite tedious.

The music is pretty dreadful, zero tension in it, just that kind of droney semi-inspirational attempt type thing that plays all the way through. That kind of thing can work but its overused and by about 2/3 of the way through it was really irritating me.

I was expecting a bit more large scale movie(ID4 style), not a single squad survival. Took a while to adjust to that, but once i did, it's good. ID4 level, shooty-mc'killstuff, messages, some over-drama...popcorn beware.

Nothing was surprising, everything was predictable, but action was good.

War movie, simple as that, with aliens.

Someone said it best; What i was expecting was world of the worlds, what i got was 2h of Halo.

It's great to see that the old gaming nerds are the generation making(target) films now, it's showing nicely.
