Umm, that looked tat. Is this meant to be a prequel to the other Batman films, or a new look at the character? Personally I think it's too soon for another film (or set of films) to do with the same character.

Too many Superhero films, the genre is going to crash and crash big time. This (or the utterly crud looking Hell Boy) could be films to break the camel's back.

Spiderman movies will save the day though!! I'm a tad worried about the X-men movies now that Bryan Singer has buggered off to do some other film. :/ As long as Sam Raimi stays with Spiderman then it is alllllll gooooood! ~keeps the faith~

There are a few redeeming factors to this film actually.

a) Decent cast - Christian Bale's good, Morgan Freeman's good, Michael Caine's alright, Liam Neeson can be great as can Gary Oldman.

b) Good director - Chistopher Nolan did Memento and Insomnia, both good films, very well made.

c) Back to the start, not basing the whole story line on one bad guy and his nefarious plans and Brucey trying to pull.

The batmobile (if that's actually what it is) does look shit though :\

All in all, I have reasonable hopes for this one, I think it could turn out to be good.

What nath just said. The first two batman films were dark and good, after that it just went down hill. Keaton was a great Wayne, and after seeing Bale in Equilibrium I am sure he can capture the moodyness of batman just as well as Keaton.

Bring it on.

The film looks interesting, but why go back to the begining again. Burton did an excellant job the first time round and I don't think anything could top keaton's and nickleson's chemistry.

As for other super hero films, I agree, Hollywood has gone a little crazy at the moment. Watched Hellboy last night and although not great it made me laugh in places :)

Just watch out for Blade III and before this all implodes will someone please actually make the Fantastic Four move!!

When I was in America years and years ago I actually SAW a clip from a FF4 movie! After that I never heard/saw anything more about it. I'm 150% sure I wasn't on any form of medication/booze at the time...

I hope they actually stop production of The Fantastic Four and start again, the casting is horrible, Jessica Alba as Susan Storm is just Whah???, the only good piece of casting is Michael Chiklis (Vic Mackey in The Shield) as The Thing and he's going to end up just doing a voice over for most of the movie.

wouldnt have minded seeing something along the lines of "Batman of the Future". Has come along way, but, some reason id just think it'd end up like the Hulk because of the futuristic background :/

I've watched Hellboy, its actually a pretty good film. Lots of humour, and some pretty evil henchmen.

Hellboy was fun in the first half and tedious in the second.

I like what appears to be the idea behind this Batman movie. Its taking it back into the shadows, into the dark and lonely world which is exactly what Batman should be.

Bob Kane had a crap moment when he invented Robin. Batman should never EVER have a sidekick other than Alfred.

Robin only turned up because of the 'comics code' in the US, which was brought in in the 1950s during a period of moral outrage that claimed comics were turning kids into juvenile delinquents (sound familiar?), so the comic companies had to kiddify all their titles or can them.

I do like the idea for this movie, the casting looks good and Batman: Year One is a great inspiration. Here's hoping we never see another nipple-embossed flourescent batsuit.

Batman is not a "superhero" in the sense of the word. He has no "super powers". He is an ordinary man with great agility/strength/intelligence and a lot of gadgets.

That's exactly the reason I love Jack Bauer so much. He may not be super, but he's my hero.

edit: granted this post is a little out of place, but I've just finished watching the last few episodes of S2. When he runs up the wall to break the guys neck I yelp like a little girl. Seriously.
