Anything interesting to see/do in the evenings in Basingstoke?

down there on a course for the rest of the week and want to do something other than loiter around the hotel im at every evening.

It has a few bars and a Liquid nightclub (which is sticky carpet style).

Rhu Bar is ok, bit small but the music is pretty good most times I have been in there. Pure is a new bar near the Sony Centre, never been so have no idea what it is like.

Will ask at work about some others.

it's awful and full of scum, stay in your hotel or head to winchester. there are a couple of nice little country pubs in old basing, just down the road actually.

Its an enormous sink estate for the london borough's - dont expect much...

I know a good pub (which seems to be frequented by villians) but I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head. Its just outside the Festival shopping centre on the way up to the post office. On the left hand side as you're walking up the hill.

What course you doing in Amazingstoke?

Used to be called the Feathers? I drank there while at 6th form. Or, more correctly, I missed 6th form while drinking there.

Old Basing isn't bad and Reading is but a train ride away (Purple Turtle used to be a good beer bar but I've not been there since I was spending my days in the Feathers and that's longer ago than I'm telling).

yeah it was the feathers but that was quite a while ago.
if your into real ale the queens head up by the station has been in the good beer guide for a few years now.
