Basic sorc questions...

I have 2 questions regarding sorcs:

1. Does 2x mezzing in rvr half the duration? I know in PVE it does but not sure about RVR...

2. Does stre/con or dex/qui debuff break mezz? Again, in PVE it does but not sure about RVR...

also first I would like to spec 40 body 36 mind but now Im considering 44 mind 31 body or even 46 mind 28 body, but I heard that the new lvl 50 lifetap is consuming so much power that you will go oop very fast if you use it without having high body (cause you cant gain full focus bonus). So whats the best sorc spec at the moment after the new lifetap changes?

2. Debuffs aint meant to break mezz I think. (Not 100% sure.)

1. No. You have a 1 min immunity timer in rvr so by the time you can remezz them, the half duration timer as reset. It’s the same in PVE, if u leave a mob for 1 min after the mezz ends you can remezz for full duration.

2. No/Yes. It wont break mezz on players but it will on pets and keep guards

Ah so you can spam mezz a few times for the ones who resisted/purged without reducing the time on the already mezzed targets? Great thats what I wanted to know

1. Its not supposed to but .. as you can remez someone who just been mezzed (despite the *supposed* 1min timer), spam.

2. Everything breaks mez, debuffs included ofc.

the aoe-str/con-debuff do not break mez. My guess is dex/qui doesnt either.. I dont remember exactly if it do or doesnt since I seldom used it when I played sorc. Mez, aoestr/con, some roots, aoelul and wooa.. u have just spent alot of mana. If you arent dead after casting the first mez already which is likely to happen.

when you think about its kinda logical that just sorcdebuffs dont break mez since they are primary mezzer in Alb. They do however not interrupt either. Kinda weird that healers asd do interrupt and break mez though since its inconsistent when comparing healers as primary mezzer to sorc. (yes it get fixed in 1.64 i know)

Sorc has nothing insta that breaks mezz except on pets/mobs/guards....

Mezz only halves duration if you cast twice on mobs/guards.... pets have the same immunity as players have so can't be remezzed but it breaks with a aoe str/con debuff or whatever debuff ><

Guards have an imunity timer too if I'm not totally mistaken.

IMO, best sorceror spec after the new lifetap will be 44 mind, rest body. (Explanation: the new lifetap will help high mind spec more than it will affect the other specs, I expect.)

And if you think you will live long enough in RvR to actually go out of power ... good luck



(OK, actually it really isn't always that bad. It's a very fun class whichever spec you pick. Have fun!)

44 mind - for last ae mezz, have to suffer last crack tho
30 body - for ae root, it is very useful in rvr and pve

Then you have a few points left, i sat them in body aswell, so final specc would be 44 mind and 31 body

actually best spec ive been is matter/mind, but only draw back from that was the lack of a secondary form of cc which is vital so therefor you have to respec back to mind/body.

Againt a Det5 savage the extra 3 seconds from a 44 spec aoe mez is useless compaired to cold debuffing him with a ice wizzy pbaoeing

40 body 36 mind is a gimpy spec, either spec for top root or spec for top mezz, don't gimp yourself by constently spec the same as almost every other Sorcerer cause you think you need aoe root to back up your mezz. I'm not sure but does root break mezz? Besides Albion has 3 classes able to spec for AOE root so there's not point Sorcerer specing body unless they want to get the last DD.

except for the fact that:

A: There are about 1 earth wizard active, and about the same earth theurgs (RvR wise i mean), so Sorc ae root, is pretty much it

B: with Determination and Purge, having only one ae CC, is gimped. the few seconds you gain on the top mezz/root, is not worth the trade off.

C: Body adds ALOT of utility to an otherwise pure mezzbot

D: cookie cutter sucks

E: body/mind spec is uber in PvE (which some people happen to like as well, so its a good mix)

Only thing i regret not having with my 40/36 spec, is 400 radius

yes it does break root, however how many groups go with an ae caster and a sorc, 1 caster in an alb group is enough free rps let alone 2. Ae root is useful for purgers aswell.

ive tryed just about all specs out there full mind full body mind/matter body/matter

at moment i am full mind and really miss the ae root when facin tank groups as the usually have purge or it gets resisted. the ae root also seems to stick a LOT more.

i am w8in for the changes to the LT spells in body line coz at mo if u spec mind they just suck hits ppl for 100 damage a pop just sucks as you primary damage spell . when i was high body thease LT spells did really well and made it worth getin MoC...

best fun i had when i had teh 45 body DD ... had a low ae mes aye but great root and the DD and LT really kicked ..

will b respecin to full body if LT sucks in 1.64

you only need to get to RR9 to get 80% powercost on the lvl50 LT then.

Body used to be fun, but I respecced after SC.

with the new changes to thurgys we have coming up, Ice spec should be a lot for appealing to go for. and if the rumous of a spec DD in the earth line there could be a few more of them about.
