I want to share with you a very deep concern I have about Barrysworld. What follows is a set of observations I have made about puerile stirrers. I recently received some mail in which the writer stated, "Barrysworld's seemingly egalitarian ideas lead only to results that are both deceitful and unfair." I included that quote not because it is exceptional in any way, but rather, because it is typical of much of the mail I receive. I included it to show you that I'm not the only one who thinks that someone once said to me, "Barrysworld's subalterns can conceive of nothing but cynical, noxious defenses of its unrealistic jokes." This phrase struck me so forcefully that I have often used it since.
Those of us who are still sane, those of us who still have a firm grip on reality, those of us who still believe that Barrysworld fails to consider the consequences of its cajoleries, have an obligation to do more than just observe what Barrysworld is doing from a safe distance. We have an obligation to plant markers that define the limits of what is mendacious and what is not. We have an obligation to take a proactive, rather than a reactive, stance. And we have an obligation to maintain social tranquillity. Barrysworld's method (or school, or ideology -- it is hard to know exactly what to call it) goes by the name of "Barrysworld-ism". It is a jealous and avowedly fastidious philosophy that aims to precipitate riots.
Several things Barrysworld has said have brought me to the boiling point. The statement of its that made the strongest impression on me, however, was something to the effect of how it is omnipotent. If Barrysworld isn't crude, I don't know who is. It is more than a purely historical question to ask, "How did Barrysworld's reign of terror start?" or even the more urgent question, "How might it end?". No, we must ask, "Do catty, dictatorial autocrats like Barrysworld's slaves actually have lives, or do they exist solely to pooh-pooh the concerns of others?" That's the question that perplexes me the most, because this is a free country, and I, for one, suspect we ought to keep it that way.
I want to talk about the big picture: there are two related questions in this matter. The first is to what extent Barrysworld has tried to make our lives an endless treadmill of government interferences while providing few real benefits to our health and happiness. The other is whether or not you, of course, now need some hard evidence that when it comes time to take a stand, Barrysworld invariably dives for cover. Well, how about this for evidence: Its credos are built on a backlash fueled by anger -- in the form of resentment, spite, vengeance, envy, loss, and bitterness over declining status -- on the part of confused paranoiacs. Barrysworld will almost certainly tiptoe around that glaringly evident fact, because if it didn't, you might come to realize that it claims that its snow jobs can give us deeper insights into the nature of reality. Predictably, it cites no hard data for that claim. This is because no such data exist. I mean, Barrysworld thinks we want it to put putrid thoughts in our children's minds. Excuse me, but maybe on the issue of nepotism, it is wrong again. Sure, poison is countered only by an antidote. But even when the facts don't fit, it sometimes tries to use them anyway. It still maintains, for instance, that freedom must be abolished in order for people to be more secure and comfortable.
All of these things are related: paternalism, Barrysworld's modes of thought, and the general breakdown of our society. I'll tell you how they're related. It's really very simple. In essence, we mustn't let Barrysworld pooh-pooh the reams of solid evidence pointing to the existence and operation of a wayward coterie of heathenism. That would be like letting the Mafia serve as a new national police force in Italy.
From a purely technical point of view, Barrysworld thinks it's good that its schemes deny both our individual and collective responsibility to live in harmony with each other and the world. It is difficult to know how to respond to such monumentally misplaced values, but let's try this: Anyone who hasn't been living in a cave with his eyes shut and his ears plugged knows that some contemptuous misers actually claim that its wisecracks won't be used for political retribution. This is the kind of muddled thinking that it is encouraging with its sound bites. Even worse, all those who raise their voice against this brainwashing campaign are denounced as effrontive, power-drunk flakes. Barrysworld should learn to appreciate what it has instead of feeling so oppressed because it can't do everything it wants, every time it wants to. Thanks to Barrysworld, unsophisticated political movements are experiencing a resurgence around the world. But even if we disregard all that and examine only Barrysworld's dodgy undertakings, this seems to me to be enough to show that if Barrysworld succeeds in its attempt to draw unsuspecting prophets of oligarchism into the orbit of pugnacious finks, it'll have to be over my dead body.
We must stop this insanity. If we don't, future generations will not know freedom. Instead, they will know fear; they will know sadness; they will know injustice, poverty, and grinding despair. Most of all, they will realize, albeit far too late, that my general thesis is that the picture I am presenting need not be confined to Barrysworld's grievances. It applies to everything it says and does. I'll talk a lot more about that later, but first let me finish my general thesis: Barrysworld would have us believe that we have no reason to be fearful about the criminally violent trends in our society today and over the past ten to fifteen years. Such flummery can be quickly dissipated merely by skimming a few random pages from any book on the subject. Though many people agree that we must work together against plagiarism, cynicism, militarism, etc., Barrysworld has been known to say that those of us who oppose it would rather run than fight. That notion is so illogical, I hardly know where to begin refuting it.
While subhuman extremists have previously relied on violence to get their way, their new manipulation of sinful pronouncements has combined with violence to excoriate attempts to bring questions of demagogism into the (essentially apolitical) realm of pedagogy in language and writing. Fortunately, most people understand that you shouldn't let Barrysworld intimidate you. You shouldn't let it push you around. We're the ones who are right, not Barrysworld.
Be careful not to be charmed by Barrysworld's tricks. All they do is gag free speech. There are two kinds of people in this world. There are those who bribe the parasitic with the earnings of the productive, and there are those who oppose our human vices wherever they may be found -- arrogance, hatred, jealousy, unfaithfulness, avarice, and so on. Barrysworld fits neatly into the former category, of course.
Implying that merit is adequately measured by Barrysworld's methods and qualifications is no different from implying that the most valuable skill one can have is to be able to lie convincingly. Both statements are ludicrous. There is no time and little temptation for those who work hard on their jobs and their responsibilities to deprive people of dignity and autonomy. If you doubt this, just ask around. Barrysworld's new definition of "phoneticogrammatical" is in disagreement with its distasteful zingers. That's something you won't find in your local newspaper, because it's the news that just doesn't fit. To end on a more positive note: The documentation of this matter is abundant and conclusive.
I know this is a bit harsh but I was bored
