BarrysWorld Q2CTF servers...

...we all know these have become unpopular recently and whether it's due to the change over to L-Fire CTF, the map list changes, lag or server settings, less people are using them.

DrChris offered me the chance to take over the liason job of the BW Q2CTF servers and I said yes, unsuprisingly. What this means to you:

<LI> You can have a say in what maps are on the server and what aren't.
<LI> You can have a say in what settings the server uses.

But more importantly what it does not mean is that I and whoever I choose to be an Admin will get a free reign of kicking people, choosing our favourite maps, etc.

So far, the two Admins are set to be:

So, apologies to Jolt admins but I hope BW Q2CTF servers will soon be there usual busy selfs again and to do that I need you to reply to this thread with your opinions on what map lists you want, what maps you do/don't want, what settings you do/don't want. Although I don't want this to turn into a pro BFG/Anti BFG thread some feedback would be nice.

looks like i will be sticking with Jolt then rather than being kicked all the time just because i tell manta exactly what i think of him

Having used the two BW CTF servers for the last few days, I think that Manta (and Benny) have done an excellent job. Very smooth, and the configurations are top notch.

It is nice to have a choice of Q2CTF server to join at night, rather than queueing 10 mins for the only decent one which is always full... mainly of mouthy spectators.

Since you mention it... I get annoyed with folks on public servers if they:

(a) Are selfish. Examples of this are so-called team-mates who grapple past me in their mad rush to get the power-ups.

(b) Block folks who are in the PS area on q2ctf2 from getting out. I mean, if you want the PS that badly, just ask nicely for it.

(c) Spam the server with drivvel. Batman and John Noakes fit this one, although Batsy is at least original.

(d) Chasecam the players in the game making stupid comments all the time. Either play, or go away... you are a waste of space IMHO.
