This was on the only CS server in use on the whole of BW. 18 players on there, 18 player limit. No-one was on any of the other servers, so presumably there's no problem with capacity or whatever. Who knows. Who cares?

This is the reason why people won't pay, because this is what BW has been like for the past six months; and this is what BW is STILL like, with just 18 players on the WHOLE CS SERVICE!!

Sorry but until something positive is done to fix rubbish like this I'm not coming back. Good riddance some might say as I know I've been complaining for ages, but I really did try to play on BW, I tried to make it work, I've played on BW since I first started Q2. I always defend BW when people take the piss and I'm a friend of some of the staff. But this is just plain embarrassing, it's worse than Jolt when Jolt really was bad - it's worse in connection terms than bloody UK2.

Some people tonight were saying the servers were not bad - well, maybe you don't play on other GSPs or you'd realise this is one side of the fence where the website is greener but the grass is not.

Okay if you play tonight and experience any server wide lag issues, so not just you but every sinlge player suddenly getting a stupid ping, please tell natrat on irc. He will be in #bwadmins tonight.

Its the best way of contact for BW. Here at least you WILL recieve a responce. BW imo needs feedback of its issues. We on the TFC servers have had problems which have seemed to been resolved. Problems do get sorted if they are notified using the support form.

Wassup 132 and 228 ping aint bad for me !!!!!

I only got a 1mb Cable connection, and the server was pretty busy, 18 ppl is a lot nowadays.

But TBH i remember somebody saying that Some of the CS servers also run some other mods that may have cpu hungry maps running.

Maybe BW should reduce the number of game servers and just run 1 server per box until the numbers pick up again.I mean at the moment we only really need 2 18 man cs servers tops.

Tbh I know the scoreboard pings went up and down a bit, they always do, but I cant say I really noticed any difference . People say o the lag, when really they mean o, the high numbers on the scoreboard sometimes .

Why Would they need more money to reduce the servers ?

What i mean is keep it how it is, but just cut down on the games running on them, as to reduce the load on the cpu`s.

And its slightly more tham just numbers throddeeeeeh, it determines whos bullets hit first ect..........its actually how many milliseconds behind the server your packets are ariving.

Like tonight at some points your `Ping` was around 50 and mine was 80, so if we were facing each other and fired your hits would of registered slightly before mine.Milliseconds doesnt seem much, but thats how you end up with all the `Why didnt you die!! i emptyed a full clip into you???` shouts.

yeah I know m8 but if all our pings go up and down by much the same rate and at much the same time it kind of levels itself out really
Particularly with player prediction at work. If it was Quake and the pings went from 50 to 200 and back Id be saying whoa hang on a bit this aint right, but on cs I dont really notice the difference.
Yeah I agree with you it would be nice to have the pings better and yeah if having 6 servers in the short term instead of 12 would help i guess id be all for it .Im just sayingi dont see it as quite as big a deal as Grom is making out , thats all.

What I meant Silentb00b{KEA} was to instead of sticking 4 servers on one box stick 2 on one, with that money they will be able to buy a new box for the two servers that were taken off the currect box.

Thats what i was thinking, but hold out for the better hardware until there is a large enough userbase to justify it.

In the meantime a sensible solution would be to cut down on the amount of current servers like you said, since at the moment 12 cs servers (for example, this applies to all games) is overkill for the amount of people using them, and a waste of resources which could be spread more evenly.

I have been a user of this service for a looooooong time and hope that they succeed as a buisness (i just didnt use the forums much) but since the forums are open to everybody, even non-subscribers they need to come up with some short term soloution to stop topics like this one clouding there judgment and putting them off from subscribing to the service.

And if you are a none subscriber reading this, The lagg isnt a common thing now its just with certain maps, id say 90% of the time my ping is around 30.And i feel since it changed to P2P everybody seems alot nicer to each other, and the teams seem more organised, Its not just a frag-fest anymore!!!!!!

I know it's sometimes hard to spot Throddy, but it is a problem; other servers don't spike like that. It occasionally happens on league servers as well - and even a BarryServer I was on once had it happen. HL does a good job of smoothing out the cracks but you lost the pinsharp bullet registration that a well configured server gives you.

I played absolute Wank on the Map before that (Aztec) i think i had a Score of somethin like 1-9 before i got pissed and Retried... not that it helped
I guess it didnt help with Emmerdale blasting from the TV not so far from me (God i hate been in the Living Room )

and all that .. lag was terrible.. yeah...

I dont play too well on Terrorist Side on Aztec, its a pain in the arse, all you need is AWPers guarding the Water / Bridge / Double Doors and you will hold the Terrorists in their Spawn Area

I am quite concerned with the pings myself, they get worst with every version. And I am sure that there must be something that can be done bar getting new hardware (which would be nice, but I doubt would happen).
