OK hi.. any 1 else who playes quake2 freezetag will say the same!!!1
"Barrysworld what have you dont to the server! We no longer can vote maps!!!!!!! And its pointless having the bfg gun on!.... Please put the VOTE (map) Cmd back on cos this is really annoying when only 2 ppl are playing and were stuck on q2dm8! or some other massive level!
:-( Please barrysworld just sort it it would only take a few moments to edit the server config..!

I'm Admin for FT Q2 and things have gone all pear shaped. Server 1 is down, and Server 2 has BFG, and no map vote. BFG on Freeze Tag!

Just emailed the capy at BW, stating our problems. BUT, it's 0012 on a Sunday morning. Not sure if much will be done till Monday, and I'm off on me hols. for a week from then.

Hi, I do not understand the necessity to change to maps and use of the BFG in order not to speak about the possibility not ballot.
All this without a survey before!!Hmm.. is not good thing!
However I hope in the good will of admins why the all lathes like before more soon possible.

Well maybe add a few more maps with no acid or lava! then it would be good!.(No acid etc cos in FT its pointless)

Thats all we ask! IS:
1) Map voting back on eg: vote (map) cmd
2) GET RID of the BFG gun! CANT PLAY FT with BFG or acid! Or Lava
3) No maps with lava and.or acid!
4) small and big maps!
5) maybe a few more maps!

Does any other regulars to the BW FT servers think thats ok!
oh and maybe

6) Team 3 enabled! Eg green or yellow team enabled!

WTF??????? is going on with the servers.
Freezetag is now empty most of the time and duel is stuck on q2dm7 and there is no voting on either...Why?
Please can u sort it out so we can all enjoy freezetag like we used too.
We all love barrysworld and are gratefull for your services but we will prob be forced to find another server if the problem is not solved soon.
If i can be of any assistance send me an email or icq me.
I agree that there should be a few more maps and also like lynxus said another team colour would be more fun too.

I was recently informed about the current 'goings on' by Peanut and [GIN]Jeo. I spoke to Beans who said everything was back to working order. I checked the servers myself, and I realised that something has seroiusly screwed up.
So i have sent an e.mail to the head admin of Barrysworld servers, asking him to do the following:
Map Voting Enabled,
Hook Disabled,
Respawn with Blaster Only,
and erm, i think there was something else. I can't remember
The Green Team, has been enabled which i don't see as a bad thing...So i have left that.
Feel Free to e.mail me with anything else you would like to add to that list (themachine@barrysworld.com)

I hope everything is back to normal soon. And I might even return to the FT world....After GCSE's

Barrysworld have to 2 server...I propose:

Server 1:
- 2 teams only
- Map Voting Enabled
- Hook Disabled
- BFG Disabled
- Quad Abled
- Respawn with Blaster
- Respawn with 50 armour
- Maps with Lava and/or Acid
- max people on server = 16


Server 2:
- 3 teams
- Map Voting Enabled
- Hook Abled
- BFG Disabled
- Quad Disabled
- Respawn with Super ShotGun
- Respawn with 100 armour
- Maps without Lava and/or Acid
- max people on server = 12 or 15

Is it possible?

Just got back from my hols. When I went, the servers were back to normal, but it appears that they have gone pear shapped again! Thanks Machine for emailing BW. Hope not too many players have been put off by the fecked up servers.

OK - by 6.00 am (server reset) we will have:

1. No more hook
2. Spawn with blaster

bfg will be removed, but BW is having probs with that at the mo. Voting is already back. Quad is still there, as it was before.

I'll get some new maps - if we can get the names and URLs for them.

Just played as Green - against normal red and blue. Although it was fun at first, I think overall it does not add to the game. If anything it ruins the tactics of it. I have therefore asked for it to be removed. Not sure if this will be done by 6.00am tomnorrow (Thursday) tho.

ive only just started getting into ft, the jb server has been empty for days =/

ive dabbled in ft before when there was no hook and only the blu an red teams were enabled, personally i think its way more fun with all 4 teams.

the server voting appears to be fixed now, so i reckon the servers should be left as they are atm

leave the 2 team action for when a league starts, which reminds me....why isnt there a league ?! such a great mod deserves a league, i was an admin for the uk jailbreak league and would be willing to help out in the running of a ft league...

also if theres any ft clans that want to get together for a friendly clan match or sommat pop into #clan_max on barrysworld irc server, or maybe if theres 3 clans out there who want a friendly could have a four way match for a laugh =)

I agree with Beans and many other players: more than two teams can be fun at first, but ruins the tactics of the game, making it too chaotic.
I think that hook debases and depreciate tactic skill as well, especially in thawing teamm8s.
and as for (Better Fragged than Getting it), aka BFG... well, i think we all agree up on removing that lamma weapon.

So, imho:
No BFG;
Two teams only;
No hook.

I also think that there is a lot of sense in what Zak suggested a few topics ago: two servers, two configs.

Ain't getting anywhere with BW at the mo.

More than two teams tends to change the whole way the game is played. From what I've seen, more players would prefer just two teams. Am I wrong?

1. BFG is big time crap This will go!
2. Hook I'm not so sure about But I think it does not add to the game. I'm going to remove it.
3. Back to spawn with blaster (not SSG)
4. I think the game finish on 8 should go back. Otherwise the maps tend to go on for ages, before 'timelimit' is hit. So, back to map finish of 8.
