Barrysworld clones?????

Thought that news item on Barrysworld front page, was a bit cheeky, especially as Netgames have been going a long long time, just relaunched, and their 0800 has been planned since February last year.
I wondered why we had a lot of visitors yesterday whinging now I know why.

As my dear friend Demannu would say! "i`d like to think about netgames as an improvment, more than a clone."

I dont want to drown your little fire youve got going here trying to say your the one and only...

But NG-UK has been running for years. You make out that youve had the idea to do a 0800 for years and we've "copied" you...when really i remember that a few hours after NG-UK publiclly announced the 0800 you came back and said "oh were doing it too"

So dont try to stop about saying "oh your a clone of us, and were obviously better"....bleh

Next time stop spinning lies just to boost your own image, which will collapse on a base of lies

I feel that I must answer this post with a positive attitude that would bear the fact that this is the Barrysworld message board and that without a doubt things posted here are read by Barrysworlds members and seen by those who browse said board looking for things to improve their unknown future.

If it is news that is posted I see no reason for any problems coming forward at his time and it would be a shame to see this post deleted by a Barrysworld moderator.

I think the "BW Clone" term came from a discussion where someone pointed out the rather similar colour-scheme of the messageboards and some of the terms used in the press release NGUK issued the other day, which made it sound like NGUK were following exactly the same business plan and strategy BW has (things such as B2B, "A big European tournament" etc).

NGUK has been running for years yes, i think i can recall when it used to be like old Wireplay and shut off to the net which was a fair while ago now, and i am happy for the people behind it who have been able to follow it through from a hobby to a job just as we did. However i think your over-reacting just a little.

For one there shite website that looks like a little kid designed it. That is your one thing that you should be putting the effort into to give a presentable image to people. At the moment it looks so fucking amature that it's nearly taking the piss.

Such a shame that gamesinferno have to start on the band wagon... I mean, their site isn't the ultimute now is it? and i would have thought they have enough problems of their own at this time without going around calling anyone elses....

maybe I'm wrong and the guys just got a problem and has no other way of getting it out... One never knows

hehehe I have to laugh whenever anyone mentions gamesinferno, they are that sure that netgames will make it, they delete any threads on their forum that points to a little bit of competition

Dear Dave the only person that will end up being dumwits are people who post threads like the one you just did.

I say the more gaming sites the better for customers, dont ya think? less crowding and waiting times to get into servers, happier people, less hassle.

Yes, BiF is exactly right about the source of the 'BW Clone' remark, which I make no apologies for. I do find it interesting how many NGUK ppl are suddenly responding to any mention of their network, and mostly in a defensive manner, since the 0800 announcement though. Im not implying you have anything to hide, but you are certainly a hell of a lot more active on other GSP's forums.

As the post readily admitted, NGUK are the first GSP to offer 0800 so how was that interpeted above to mean that I was saying 0800 was cloning? The fact is we've never offered 0800 because it has not been financial viable, we are still not offering it, just thinking about it - we've discussed it openly for a long time though.

I heard a whisper that your offer is based on a 12hr port usage pattern before you get surcharges from C&W, is that true?

As for the 'doing it better than X' mentality. Well I just do the best I can and don't worry about what others are up to. But with such a similar business plan announced by NGUK I'm sure services are gonna be unvieled by both of us that appear similar. All the better for the gamers as they get more choice.

One thing I've learnt is everyone is loyal to their own GSP.

Mine is BW, a punters GSP changes very rarely and even things like 0800 won't change many ppls minds.

I use other GSP's when I have to like wp for the wpdml, ukccl for the bloodbath 4vs4 etc. BW will stay my favourite however for quite a long time to come I can see
