Barrys world server's

I have noticed that barrys world tribes 2 public servers are not being used anymore, And i was wondering wether barrys world had taken note of this and was doing some thing to bring back the players. Or do any off you have any ideas on how to bring back players to these servers. I don't know maybe some one from BW might actualy read this and take note to it or may be not :sleeping:

Yeah, i used to much prefer playing on BW servers but now noone plays on them. I heard alot of people saying the BW servers arent turning up on the euro master list, i havent heard of any responce from BW on that matter though.

hmm.....might have summat to do with public games being bad and maybe a space at the beginning of another GISP servers ?

Heh i think more fuss has been made over that space thing than is warranted, i think most people sort servers by players these days.

I have to say that the Barry's servers don't show up on my list anymore, either because they aren't on the server list or always have less then 5 players

I'd like to see them back to full strength though.

The majority are yes, but theres usually a few busy Jolt, NGI and splatterfest servers busy at the same time for those who dont want to play on the big 48 player servers. Dont see any reason why BW shouldnt be one of them, service is good

The initial problem seems to have arisen due to the fact that the Barrysworld servers dropped of the European Master List and were absent for sometime. This does now seem to have been resolved though.

If you are still having this problem try refreshing all servers and the Barrysworld servers should then show up.

As for the space before the name, this has been gone over and over many many times, and I for one am not going to go over old ground on that one.

Having said that there is very little I would imagine that Barrysworld can do to get players back on without either telling them all to refresh all thier servers or stick 2 spaces infront of the name....

They will fill up in time.

Yeah i lost the barrysworld servers, even doing a full refresh for all the servers (EU, US Asia etc) i still couldn't find them. But i havn't tried today, will try them later.

I really prefer the BW servers to the others, I seem to have the smoothest games on them. Come back people!

Still can't see them, done a server refresh for all the masters. I can see the bookable and legue servers but not the public ones. Just try something, try unselecting BW from faves then do a server refresh and see if they show up because that is when i lost them.

I have given up on BW for the time being.

BW dialup on a BW server and I still get a pong of 170 (single channel ISDN), with loads of 10 second lock ups.

Most other servers are really smooth on any dialup.

And the gameplay is absolute shite, but then again it is on any server.

Oh well, whats the next big game to be released?

(sorry about map name spellings, I dont even know what most of them mean)

I've said this before I guess but my 2 cents on this are:

small maps + lots of people = loads of action = lots of fun = popular server

in small maps I mean Minatour, Firestorm, Beggersrun, I play these maps regularly with 40+ people on US servers, just pure fun.

now...

Recellence + lots of people = little action = :sleeping: = less popularity

Same goes for Thin Ice but thats OK but Recellense (or whatever) has gotta go, some people will say "oh but I like that blah" but if we are thinkin people wise its the shits and people drop like flies.

Then there are the maps that are not as action based like Archipelago, Thin Ice and Dessicator for example but are still fun occasionally. If I was the server admin I would make sure these map get played but dont pop up as frequently. Just make sure that people have plenty of action and dont want to leave.

I have been playing on NGUK a little bit and honestly I'll be damned if I didnt get better gameplay on BW some weeks ago And these Vehicle only servers and one map only thing might be very popular but its horrible to play there (most of the time). But if we could just get some peeps on BW, I mean 10 people is enough, like every night the people will come. But thats not really my turf but just something that could get people there. I would try my hardest to attend if there was some deal where good people would all agree on meeting on some BW server and tell my friends who do not read this board about it.

perhaps some of us BW pubby admins could organise some games to get people back on the servers, I'll have a word with the liasons asap.

BW servers are great when people are actually on them.
I didn't see them on the list until I reinstalled T2 because the last patch totally b0rked T2. Now they show up fine

I also noticed new servers in my list last couple of days.

CTF 5678

some were full mainly 7 and 8 but still others were enpty as normal ctf 1234 never seem to have more then 5 - 10 ppl on them at any time not sure about the rest they seem to be filling up
maybe peeps read this post and we pushed them back to barrys world servers.




or maybe not and they just started apearing in there server lists again :sleeping:

good news for sure, shame my CD player has packed up (sometimes works for about 12 seconds, just enough time to register the CD is there before dying again) so i might see you on the servers tonight. If not i am getting a new Computer this weekend (got mobo/CPU, waiting for DVD, Hdd, and some other shit)
